That's why it has six.

i remember buying these for 75 bucks at walmart clearances back in 2019-2020
i got 4 now that i never used, one day I will mod them , i guess to play any game
LOL, you will never mod them, even if you do, you will never play with them. Sure maybe once a year. There are too many good games out there in the comfort of my computer chair or sofa to even go back to these old crappy graphics games. I said the same thing a few years ago, end up selling them during the pandemic when prices were insane. Just never wanted to play with them when you have PS5 or PC games that run on 3060ti graphics that looks so realistic...just my 2 cents.

Preach, Brother. I get raised eyebrows from young folk when I tell them I take out from the library and rip it at home rather than sail the open seas. They don't understand risk/reward. I'll go slow if it means I don't mess up my $3000+ PC rig.
been stealing media since kazza, then suprnova in the early torrent days... what are you scared of?

I don't think its about being scared. To some of us the time spent finicking with game cracks, finding the media in the format you want/need and dealing with the potential trojans/viruses that might infect our computers is no longer worth the time if you can spare the disposable income.

I'd like to have a all-in-one solution that is easy to put away/hide in the corner.

I was thinking of:
- Atgames Legends Gamer Pro (2 person joystick setup)
https://www.amazon.com/Legends-Ga...B08P91N5Q7
This regularly goes on sale for $100
- Arcade Legends Pedestal
https://arcademodup.com/product/a...l-cabinet/
- $200 (may decide to build on my own)
- Would like to add lockable wheel casters so it can be moved around

Monitor can be anything you'd like to purchase and hang on wall. Benefit to this setup is the the monitor could double as a TV set or you could add an adjustable mount so it can be used for gaming and then the pedestal rolled away and a rolling desk could be slid in to use it as a office PC.

With the AtGames Legend Gamer Pro console it can double as a Xbox controller so you could also use it to play Xbox, PS4 or Steam games. Still working on how to easily switch from one source to another but this setup would allow for the ultimate gaming setup and can easily be moved to a corner when not using it.

kinda want the sf2 12 in 1, dont need it...i have a modded one with thousands of games.

sometimes i just miss the simplicity of a out of the box one though. a modded one will never be kid friendly since you can open menus and mess up settings by randomly banging on buttons as kids do, and theres no simple way to properly shut a Raspberry Pi down without going into a menu (actually a dude had rigged a foolproof shutdown relay online, but it got really complicated).

i'd go sf2 all the way though. although with 5 different versions of sf2 it's really a 7 in 1 in my book, theres good variety in those 7.

the new ones btw are supposedly inferiors, the cabinet can block some of the view for tall people and the raised siding can get in the way of your hands and rub off. otoh i assume the joysticks are out of the box competent now at least. i'd still switch for sanwa sticks personally. which were about 20-25 each when i was buying so not too expensive an upgrade,

funny how a few years later 299 is like when these used to clearance for 150 (i picked up my original sf2 cab to mod for 150). our money being worth half as much as a few years ago might not be too far off!
This is a really good point. I have all the same issues and it's why I think more people aren't just burying Nintendo Switch in neat custom cabinets. The lack of arcade-style quick play just takes the fun right out of something like doing Smash with 8 kids.

I would have bought that sf2 at $299, but I just do not like the cabinet. I ended up preordering shinku hadoken edition. It looks a bit better than the yoga flame edition in my opinion.

Spot on about the Raz pi thing! The kids yank the plug on mine to shut it down, and I got a corrupted image now.

Ive often wondered about this. I'm surprised we dont have a "hardened" image for the pi/1up enthusiasts yet, where all you do is load more games via the SD. Given the 1up specs are known and unchanging, the need for flexible settings should be greatly reduced.

Arcade1up made a marvel vs capcom 1 at one point, however I do not think they produce them anymore. Hopefully they can make one in the future.
