Have 4 of these, best TV bang-for-buck in a long time! We like the Roku version better ($50 more in this sale but sometimes same price). Why? Better remote, better voice control, overall easier to use, and has a LOT of free "Roku" channels that the Androids do NOT get.
It's called a Google Chromecast with Google TV and it's an android TV box you plug into the TV. It's also way faster than the android TV built into the u6g. I literally have one plugged into my android TV u6g right now because it's a better overall experience than the built in version (TV must have slower specs).
Not sure where you're getting your information from, but there has been Android TV streaming boxes out for years. The Nvidia Shield TV, Mi TV Stick, Tivo Stream 4K are all Android TV streaming plugins. The official one from Google is the Chromecast with Google TV, which is the newer platform. Google will still support Android TV, but it will not be updating it to Google TV so you'll be stuck with an obsolete platform.

I got the roku version. Paid 550 for it at Costco. Definitely a great TV. It's a VA panel. Darks are really black. HDR 10 looks decent. Xbox series X looks amazing on it. It also has VRR. I just can't figure how to enable the 240 motion rate on it.

How is the off angle viewing? Does it wash out like some panels.

I don't really care about TV shows, I can add Xfinity stream which I have a million billion shows cuz the lady has that subscription, and the chatter about Android being slow is fixed a long time ago

It's a total preference but I can plug in a Roku into an Android tv, but there's no Android plug in device into a Roku TV.

I like to keep my options open but I'm mostly using this for sports and gaming
Isn't Chromecast an Android device plugging into Roku?

Read somewhere of Google advertisement or promotions running for a minute or longer with no option to skip, specific to Google model but not Roku
Have you come across, thoughts ?

farking hate Best buy their total cons, 14-day return window, outsourced terrible customer service.

Just got back from Philly and missed out on some awesome TV deals.

edit: remember why I didn't buy this, even though it gets great reviews for video gaming it doesn't have vrr which is a huge deal breaker for some

? Cons? What.

I mean yeah return is a bit shorter than others but like cons?

It's also not even remotely competitive. Every place I shop at, online or in store is a 30-day return window (minimum), obviously Costco blows them out of the water, so really what is the benefit of shopping at best buy? Walmart, target, Costco, amazon, office Depot, staples, kc richards, micro center, etc all have better return windows and better customer.

I used to love Best buy and they were one of the better companies but they're customer service phone is trash, they only give you 14 days, and they offer the same products to everybody else and everybody price matches anyway

The points don't do anything so just no real reason to buy from them

I think you're thinking Chromecast which lets you project from chrome to other devices?

Honestly I've watched two movies and 4 years I'm just not a TV guy.

But I've never heard of a plug-in Android device that gives you Android apps into a TV. Maybe you could stream it from your laptop but that would be a multi-step process.

I have an Android Sony and it runs great, if you're a Roku person that's fine, but why limit yourself when you can get an Android TV and then plug your Roku into that TV? If you're that big into media.

Xfinity stream app basically gives you but you would have with a TV and cable box and that's all I will ever need.

Sure I wake up with a bunch of notifications telling me I'm dumb
