Once you unlock this hotspot from ebay codes (Thx nimpravi):
connect to device's wifi, go to HTTP://mobile.hotspot and then from that dashboard:
network settings -> APN -> Add a new APN suitable for your network (you can get APN settings from Google). Once you save the APN settings, make it default APN. Now, the service will disconnect and you need to click on 'Home" in the dashboard and there will be option to "Connect" and click on that.

got transferred to the cancelation department
the woman named Amanda told me that this is the price and the device is prepaid and I will not be charged if I don't use the device
If I want to use the device then I can buy a plan from their website.
I hope this helps

Three months ago I ordered a phone from Boost late in the evening and attempted to cancel first thing in the morning when their CS hours started.
They told me they couldn't cancel the order so just refuse the delivery and have it returned.
I did just that. Saved proof from tracking info that it was delivered back to them a few days later.
Waited 2 weeks, still no refund. Called Boost, after giving all info they told me refund was processing and I'd see it in 3-5 days. Waited a week, no refund. Called again, same thing - told me refund is processing, wait 3-5 days. Waited a week, called again, same thing - this time they said 2-3 days. Never gave me a reference ID.
Called a week after that (5 weeks after they received refused package). Demanded a manager. He tried saying I should have accepted the package then done an RMA. I told him I did exactly what your support told me to do. Escalated to supervisor who after some time gave me a reference ID and said he'd follow up personally within 3-5 days.
Waited a week, nothing. Finally called my CC around 6/8 and initiated a dispute. Sent them all necessary info (order info, tracking, proof of returned delivery, logs of my calls, etc.). They issued the credit promptly while they did their investigation, and just yesterday I received the letter confirming they finished their research and the credit is final.
tl;dr - Boost Mobile is shady. Save all tracking info. Call them 1-2x, keep track of what they tell you, and be prepared to dispute the charge with your CC company.

Steps:
Called Boost Mobile Customer Service, pressed #, then 3, then #, then ignored the first prompt (without pressing anything) and waited for the second prompt, then pressed 2 to speak to customer rep. Told him I wanted to cancel an online order. He transferred me to a sales team rep, who said that she has submitted my cancelation request and that I should receive an email about the cancelation within 24 hours.
