It's full AndroidTV. Meaning that it has the Playstore, Google assistant, and can also side load apps very easily
Remote is very good, except for the dedicated Netflix, etc. buttons (I don't care for those)
I haven't used it for gaming tho
I've had it for about 1 year and also have a Chromecast with remote. They're basically the same thing. For the price, I'd go for this anytime, I've seen them new at Walmart for $15. Price new is $20.
I would stay away from the Fire sticks, tv, etc. (unless you're really invested in that ecosystem)
And in haven't really used a RokuTV, but I can't see how it would be better than this, specially with the AndroidOS backing it
It doesn't state that the VIPoutlet listing is refurbished, but is it safe to assume it's a refurb? If that's the case, I'd rather pay the extra $4 to get it directly from Walmart.

I replaced all my old firesticks with this, The fire UI is getting out of hand with the ads and horrendous lag. With these I can install FLauncher, install the apps my kids/in-laws need and some set a nice wallpaper. The only thing I miss from the firestick is the remote.
You mean the thing that you use to interact with the box all the time?
That is sort of a big deal for me, and the extra learning curve after becoming familiar with FS
I wanted to like this when I got it, but the wifi on this thing is terrible. Stopped working out of nowhere. Can see my SSID and tries to connect but either: refuses to connect to the internet when manually setting IP, or won't get an IP when IP is set to dynamic. It's not a wifi router issue, everything else connect fine. Even bought a chrome streaming device to replace and it connected fine.
i just bought a 2nd one of these on Saturday for the full $20 price at my local walmart. this thing is awesome. i'd prefer to stay with roku but there's some apps roku doesn't have that this one allows you to get. so for a few tv's i'm switching over. also this has the ability to power on/off your tv/sound bar/receiver which is super helpful and now i can get rid of the sideclicks for my rokus

The remote is kind of flimsy. Wifi is week. I use a Samays wired ethernet hub on just about anything, but the HUB quits working after a while. so it is back to wifi. I have also tried it with the Amazon wired ethernet adapter and it did not even work at all.. My hunch it is a flakey Micro usb port on the ONN box, but it ony effects pariphrials, it keeps the box powered on.
Again I must say the remote is no where near the quality of the Fire Sticks.
I just happend to pull the ONN box out of my junk box today to rig up a tv for the basement guest room so I am dealing with its short comming as I type this.. I think I am just going to go with a fire stick. The wifi is on its fringe and I cant keep a wired conection either.. If I had a time machine, I would have picked up a new stick for $17 last prime day if I knew I was going to need a streaming stick this week. I just figued this would do in a pinch..

Have one of these. They work great most of the time. But like someone else said, the remotes are prone to disconnecting. When it happens, it's annoying, but you can control it with your phone even if that happens. Is it ideal? No.
Yeah, I have this issue too with one of the four I have. It's an overheating issue. Placing an ice pack on it has helped, but I'm wondering if sticking a heat sink onto the outside of the casing would work

Do this!

You'll want to get an OTG cable and a 256GB USB 3 Flash drive too.
