It's actually a membrane (not mechanical) keyboard, so it should be fairly quiet like most generic keyboards. It is "Cherry MX stem compatible keycaps", but doesn't have Cherry switches.

Man I just received mine. The keys are definitely quieter than my razor blackwidow 2016 keyboard....does anyone else have a problem placing their hands too far to the left? I think the extra column on the left throws off my alignment lol

I got one of these and a Z20 for free from EVGA bundle purchases. The Z12 has nice lights and you can control them with the EVGA app. The build quality of the keyboard itself is a bit "cheap" feeling (thin plastics), but it works really well and it looks great. The Z20 has nicer volume controls and a magnetic wrist rest, but the keys still fell thin and cheap. The typing performance is great though and it's not super clacky sounding like some cherry switch keyboards.

For these discounted prices, it's a no brainer, but no way would I spend full price on these.

I have the z20 as well. This looks like a great spare, especially at the price.
