I actually despise Walker Edison. Their "Wood" is the lowest form of Walmart grade particle board (As opposed to Ikea's manufactured wood/particle board which is a lot better quality). They like to say it's "Warp proof" sometimes but it's not. But materials aside, Walker Edison products never have the consumer in mind when they decide how many pieces to create when the product is unassembled and shipped in a box, dowel holes are always the wrong size and they put too much burden on the assembler getting every single thing perfectly aligned in intermediate steps without a way to check if you did it right before the final product is complete and you may have misaligned drawers, etc. Other companies that require assembly have better thought out fool proof assembly.

Very good price. If you're looking for a cheap TV stand stop looking and just buy this. Not going to get it new condition any cheaper.

All in all it went together pretty easily, but getting the top piece to fit right was a little tricky. Looks good and will serve the purpose of clutter-catching. Not my favorite piece of furniture, but can't complain for the price.

I doubt it. You'd spend too much getting doors made. You'd be better off buying a different model that comes with doors.
ok, thanks.

If its particleboard then its better than Ikea. Ikea now uses honeycomb paper core. Ie: cardboard

Glorified holder for magazines and to get stuff off the floor. Good enough for $66 bucks.

It's funny that most TV stands/entertainment centers usually don't show a TV actually sitting on them, but rather mounted on the wall.

Is $65 a worthy "you get what you pay for" price?

This price is decent enough that if you really needed a cheap TV stand and weren't a stickler for quality then go for it, I just wanted to share my experience with the brand.

I noticed that too. Desk I bought had oddly light legs. One broke, it was hollow inside legs with thin outer walls of compressed cardboard with fake wood print outside. Ok for dorms I guess. Some point we may be better off getting free cardboard and taping together and using wood wrap and call it a day lol.

Do you own it? I do. It wasn't as bad as you think. It is not solid wood of course but its quality is as good as Ikea.

Sorry you had such a bad experience with them, but it seems like you are an outlier and not the norm. Even the Best Buy review page you linked to has 4.5 stars with 504 reviews. The most recent one, which I assume you are citing, definitely brings up some concerns, but it also sounds like quite a bit of "user error". For example, they are complaining about two extra pieces of wood. I got those as well, and somewhere (I forget where but remember reading it) clearly says that those are for package protection and not actually part of the build. That should be pretty obvious since they are on the outer sides of the box and a completely different color. If anything, it shows that they spent extra time/money to ensure the product isn't damaged in transit.

As far as holes not lining up or being drilled properly, my experience on the larger 70" model was anything but. All of the holes were perfectly aligned, and it was a piece of cake to get the screws/etc. installed in them. Granted I took my time and read the instructions. I ran into one hurdle towards the end where it looked like there was an alignment problem, but then realized I had the piece backwards, which sounds similar to the reviewer's issue, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had a similar issue and didn't realize their mistake.

Point being, with any built-it-yourself piece of furniture, there are going to occasionally be issues. But it sounds like those are rare and most people, including myself, are very happy with this product. Is it high end solid natural wood? No, of course not for that price point. But it looks to be decent quality and I'm happy with my purchase that was ~3x what this deal is for, albeit for the larger unit in a different color.
I agree with you. I've had very good experiences with Walker Edison. Superior quality to most companies and certainly better than Ikea.

The complaint I often see with Walker Edison is that the holes aren't there. They actually are there...but covered with particle board. The final process simply didn't reveal the holes. But if you look at the piece logically in relation to the holes that are visible, and measure carefully, you'll be able to pinpoint the exact spots. Almost without fail I'll measure from both sides and make a mark on a small piece of masking tape above the hole, then when I push through with the bolt or nail the hole magically reveals itself and I'm all set.

Do it that way and the alignment matches up. In one review after another I'll read complaints about using a drill bit, and then the pieces don't fit. No kidding. You drilled in the wrong place. I have never used a drill bit.

The only problem I have with Walker Edison is that they often instruct you to put together the piece in disjointed fashion and then fit it together like a jigsaw puzzle, instead of doing it sensibly like bottom to top. The bottom to top approach makes it much easier to catch an error in progress and also to figure out what is going on each step of the way.

Anyway, I would be interested in this deal other than I recently bought a television stand large enough for a 65" on Amazon from a different company. That was a disappointing purchase smack out of the box. Noticeable imperfections. I decided to return it. To my surprise, Amazon approved the refund but said I didn't have to return the piece. The key may have been the explanation I chose from the drop tab, "Item was defective but the shipping box was okay." Perhaps that one triggers the Amazon system that they don't benefit from a return of an item of this size and weight. Now I'm trying to figure out if the piece is salvageable.

I bought this stand from Target(different company name though) for Black Friday last year and all I can say is it's a nice quality set. Very pleased with my purchase.

Walker edison is just rebranded import products. Some of their stuff is real wood, i.e. their dressers/nightstand which are pine. I have never owned walker edison but it seems good enough. Especially for $65, but at $219 I would stay far away.

Most of their dressers are not real wood. They may have a real wood insert here and there but they are particle board. I have a Walker Edison dresser - it wasn't cheap either. Anyway, for $65 sure if you are in a pinch this is a good price I just hate the brand.
