I have Kodi on both my Chromecast and this and they both work well. Chromecast runs slicker due to better hardware and has HDR which this does not. However, at $14, there is no Android box that could compete with this. If you have non smart TVs or video projectors, or even an old monitor, this would turn them into useful devices. You can install tinycam on it and watch your security camera feeds on an old monitor.

it has a micro USB port that is used for power. It is possible to get a OTG micro usb splitter to use it for power and to provide access to a usb A port. I had to use some ADB commands to be able to properly adopt external storage for apps and what not.
