Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Has anybody ever traded in a phone they couldn't factory reset? I've got a phone with a totally broken screen that is clearly powering back on, and I can even unlock it at boot because I know where to draw the pattern, but I can't navigate the menus to reset it afterwards.
I did to Samsung once and I got the full trade-in value. Might as well try, what do you have to lose with a broken phone?

If you go through the links there's a page that tells you what exactly they look at when evaluating the trade-in...and it's a lot of stuff.

Only asking two basic things (turn on/off and cracked screen) is kind of disingenuous when there's a long list they look at buried in their links (including lots of different functionality like buttons, full touch functionality, brightness check, scratches, factory reset, form factor dents/cracks, camera, etc).

that's my concern... seems a bit too vague and makes me wonder how much of a cracked screen is acceptable

Placed order with iPhone 7 128gb trade in. Even though only iPhone 7 256gb is listed as an option for $300 trade in value, I gave it a shot with smaller size.

Fingers crossed to see how and what google offers.

Anyone else with same trade in?

Does any one know if we can trade in a phone with a burn in ?
I don't see why not, they might give you full value, but worth a shot

I want to trade-in an old iphone 7 128gb but the trade-in page shows 300$ only for the 256gb variant. What are everyone's speculations on the trade-in value difference between 128gb and 256gb variants.

Have the Samsung A71 5g... and spec are pretty much the same as 6a (smaller screen)... I don't see a benefit of me upgrading. But anybody who has something a little older... this is a smoking deal.
Isn't processor supposed to be much faster?

Was looking into trading in my Pixel 4a, but I like my 4a a lot, and I don't see any huge upgrades for the 6a from the 4a, unless I'm missing something which is very possible. It's a bit taller and a little bit wider, and 5g is cool, battery is a bit bigger. Refresh rate is the same (60hz), still no wireless charging. Not putting down the 6a, it looks like it would be a good upgrade for a heavy phone user, which I am not. Especially for this trade in price.Just not sure it's a huge upgrade from the 4a which is 2 years old now.

Not sure which phone you're talking about but can you cast/mirror the phone to your TV or a monitor so you can see what you're doing on the screen?

Slightly faster.

Pixel 6a: Hexa-core, 2x 2.80GHz Cortex-X1 + 2x 2.25GHz Cortex-A76 + 4x 1.80GHz Cortex-A55

A71 5G: Octa-core, 1x 2.3GHz Kryo 475 + 1x 2.2GHz Kryo 475 + 6x 1.8GHz Kryo 475, 64-bit

worth trading in an iPhone XS 64gb for $280 or selling locally to recoup the cost? Or hold onto the iPhone XS for future trade ins?
