Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

The hilarious thing to me is when this deal first started you could get a fully working Pixel 3A for under $80 that was unlocked in good condition. I watched over the past 2 days the market for Pixel 3A phones. Almost all of the working phones under $100 are sold out. People are so desperate for this trade in deal people are buying the awful half broken Pixel 3A phones, hoping that they don't revise the trade-in amount (I bet they do for a bunch of these cracked phones).

The desperation is so real that a working phone that is in an auction ending tomorrow is already up to $120. LOL, People selling their Pixel 3As probably have no idea what's going on. I'm surprised they aren't jacking up their prices yet.

This was obviously the best phone deal of the entire year. All the smart people figured that out when they did the Math. Getting a brand new phone for under $200. Stupid easy.

They're only offering me $50 for my 3a. Rip. Would love to upgrade if it worked for me.
Just checked and mine still shows 300. Not sure what you did, but the deal is still alive

Probably still good and certainly not lower than you're getting it for here. Google is basically giving this phone away if you do the trade in. I have a sneaking suspicion they want to silently get 3a and 4a phones off the market so they don't have to worry about the unlimited photo backup and the cost associated with it.
They could just wait for the 3a and 4a to all perish naturally... or spend hundreds of thousands buying them back at $300 each. Again, the $300 trade in is just a quote.

Yep all the phones got snapped up. Still on the hunt for a cheap phone. Now would be the time to ask your friends if they have one lying around lol

Damnit! I have a 13 Pro Max but get very little joy out of it and miss Android in some pretty important ways. Wish I could jump ship.

The real question is... can I justify 2 phones...
Hello can you tell me what you are missing going to iPhone? I'm considering leaving pixel because I'm sick of the issues I have and being 2nd place all the time.

FYI - I was quoted $295 trade-in credit for my pixel 3a with cracked screen at Google 🙂 and got the free pixel buds. feels like a heck of a deal to me!

edit- I purchased unlocked without a Google Fi plan
Was just noticing the same. F, I pulled off two screens on a couple cracked 3as in hopes of replacing for in law and my mom...

The boneheaded exclusion of a micro SD slot and wireless charging is really holding this phone back. Two relatively cheap components are all it takes to make this a no brainier.
The wireless charging part I can agreed with, as it can't cost that much more to include the coils when the back is already glass.

I see a pretty simple why Google doesn't offer a micro SD slot: They make money off cloud storage. Subscription services is an ongoing moneymaker, and earns Google significantly more money than being able to sell a few more phones to people who want a micro SD slot.

Take care,
Tofu Vic

That and they want to show strong Pixel sales reflected in their earnings

I have a Pixel 4a that has been sitting unused for a while now. Figure $300 + free earbuds is more than I'm going to get for it any time soon, so I'm in. I think the 6a will be a nice upgrade for Grandpa (my OP 8T is still going strong).

Can I trade in 2 phones for two 6A under same google account?
Did not find any limitation per google account in the fine print, but want to double check before place the order.

It should be fine for you. Using one Google account, I placed 2 separate orders for the Pixel 6a, and traded-in Pixel 3a for each order.
