Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

It's a garbage phone. the only reason I went for this deal was because I was getting $300 trade in for my extinct 3a.

You would have to be a fool to pay $450 for this junk.

Also, based on horror stories I have heard about google trading, I am not opening the phone box until I have sent in my trade in and received the credit.

My trade in box that is supposed to arrive says shipped on google site but when I look at the USPS tracking it says label has been created but the box has not even been shipped.
Google actually gave me more than what they said they would once they inspected my 3A last year. If only I had waited 8 months. I only got $85, but a corner of my screen was smashed. I don't think I could've gone that long with it, as it was already shitting the bed in everyday use...

It's not from PayPal it's from Discover & it's just like the usual Discover Cashback, will show in your Discover account, usually next month - that's assuming you activated it first.

The 5% back comes from Discover, not PayPal.... and you may need to wait until your next statement.

Assuming you activated it with Discover too... hope you did. Big Grin

So it's a "garbage phone" but you haven't opened the box yet?

I bought this one because I wanted more protection and to show off the beautiful sage green color... and because Amazon has next day delivery and I want it NOW:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

And the above case has a top frame with a built-in screen protector too.... or a frame without a screen protector if you don't want to use one or you want to use your own glass one or something.

But any 6a case from Spigen, Caseology, Poetic should be good. Obviously it depends on what you want (level of protection and personal preference).

Been using it most of the afternoon, much snappier than my 3a. For $150, it was a good buy overall.

Anyone else planning to return the buds for $80 back? Can't beat a net phone cost of $369. I have Jaybird Vistas going strong for two years.
They will give $80 if we ship the buds back?

Extremely disappointing phone.

I ordered the phone intending to upgrade my Pixel 3A. After using the 6A for a few hours, I'm asking myself who would want this phone. Not me, that's for sure.

Sure, some small, little-used features "might" be better; but many more everyday items are worse.

Maybe the Tensor processor is faster than the 3A's (I can't feel it, however), but it's also incredibly hot running (simply watching a Youtube video is uncomfortable), increases battery usage, and makes the many-times-a-day sign-on procedure worse. And it's heavier. Upgrade? Where?

I should have listened to the critical reviewers instead of the defensive apologizers.
I found people recommending turning on the always on display. There is also a tap to wake setting but the first option seems the fastest / most convenient.

Open the Settings app, tap 'Display,' tap 'Lock screen,' and tap the toggle next to 'Always show time and info.'
