Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Do you think it's because mine were shipped separately? The promo product page addressed this, saying if you return the buds, you'll get a proportional return. Weird. Sorry it's not working for ya!
Mine was shipped together and it shows the same for me.

It's recommended to fully charge your phone before the first use. Though I've done some reading and it doesn't really matter for batteries these days, it's just what manufacturers recommend.

Tip: It's good to fully charge the battery of a new phone. After that, charge as much or as little as needed. (You don't have to go from full to zero charge, or from zero to full charge.)

I bought despite the typical experts chiming in on the horrors of the 6A (99% of which hadn't even had one in their hands yet). The funny part for me is, the #1 warning about the bad fingerprint reader, in my case, couldn't be more wrong! The 6a fingerprint reader in my case is MUCH BETTER than the one on the 4a! In fact, to me it's the most noticeable difference between the two! Glad I ignored the cries!

P.S. Just installed a glass screen protector, and the print registered before I installed it, works just as well as it did before the glass installation!

Right, the reviews are wrong or google has updated the firmware to tune them better. The bass is great with bass boost set to half.

For me the latest update of Google camera app is force closing. Sometimes even forcing a system reboot. Uninstalling the latest makes it much bearable. Anyone else with same behavior

Ha.. same thing just happened to me, but 41 apps were getting updated in the background. Will let it settle and try.. Rebooted twice on me, as I was testing camera

Did you have to update them after you received them?

I'm still seeing April security update and no, it cannot be enrolled into beta.

I can't wait to try 13. I'm not blown away by the battery performance. It's not bad but it's not that great considering how much larger the battery is compared to my 4a

My trade in kit is set for 3 days awaiting shipment. I mean I got the shipped email 3 days ago, but USPS still hasn't received the item. It's a freaking box, how much time does it take. Google is making sure that we can't return the phone if we don't like the trade in value. They are delaying the trade in process as much as they can.

Got this thing yesterday and it was HOT to the touch during the transfer of my files and apps. Hoping that Google will fix with software updates in the future.

That's my thing, trying to figure out is e this is a garbage phone, people just went in with unrealistic expectations, or maybe somewhere in the middle? My son set his up last night and it seemed fine. Mine should come today so we will see.
It's certainly not a garbage phone nor is it the best mid-range phone that's ever been made.... so..... you can deduce from there.

Now if they had just kept the great tried-and-true fingerprint reader on the back...
