Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Removing the prior registered fingerprints and re-registering your fingerprints fixes this from what I've read (the unlocking with unregistered fingerprints).

Some people also suggested to register fingerprints in a room with low lighting / a dark room (like the lights off).

Thanks. I will try that but I'll wait until I get the latest security patch in case that makes a difference. It feels like we're still Google's BETA testers even with the 6A.

Thanks - it is Tracfone - just called support and they don't support wifi calling on Pixel 6A - UGH
Yeah with Visible wireless I had to wait until the 4A was supported for WiFi calling as well. I had a better experience with Visible over TracFone (also cheaper $25 unlimited everything with party pay). They should eventually support WiFi calling for the phone. Maybe complain about it or tweet about it. Usually people bringing attention to an issue can help.

How do we get our Trade-in kit? The original order email showed it as shipment "2 of 2" on the order, and now when I look at my order, there is no sign of the trade-in kit.

Has anyone received their trade-in kit?

Thanks - I have read it only affects Verizon - ordered a SIM kit and may just switch to a Tmob Tracfone chip if I can...

I don't think they will let you do that anymore... I think they have plans to migrate everyone over to Verizon since Verizon bought Tracfone.

UPDATE: Text MIGRATE to 611611 and it will tell you if you're going to be migrated.

Thanks - u may well be right. I live in the boonies and Verizon has best signal (2 bars on a good day) - ATT weaker - Tmob and Sprint - weakest Smilie So wifi calling a MUST.

The Slickdeals app keeps closing when swiping like from Frontpage to Popular. Anyone else have this issue?

Well I was just using the camera and when I switched to the ultra wide camera the screen went totally dark and I couldn't get it back until I powered by on the phone. Looks like it had a sudden crash and turned off.... anyone else? Before then I was pretty happy with the phone and it was working well (except for the fingerprint reader issues).

Got my phone today. A lot of you are babies. Why wouldn't it be hot during setup?! The phone is really good. You can feel the flagship processor. There is no choppines, and it's easy to maneuver. Big upgrade over my pixel 3a and Motorola G7, and noticeably better than my 5a. Feels cheaper than that one, but that's why I bought this phone. Typing is taking me some getting used to. No complaints.

You should receive an email from Google which includes a hyperlink to track the trade in kit.

Contact support, curious what they recommend. I've read some comments about the camera crashing (nothing about having to restart the phone though). It doesn't seem widespread. Could uninstall and reinstall the camera app. I wonder if this is already addressed in the day one update or in the upcoming August update.
