Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Did everyone get a confirmation email about the trade in? I did add the trade in while buying the phone but havent received any confirmation or anything about the trade in. I dont even see the trade-in details in the order confirmation page on my google account.

I got two emails:
1. received on the same day as my order with Subject line: "Your Google Store trade in". Email contains trade in ID, what I'm trading in, and estimated value of my trade in
2 Second email recevied the day before my phone arrived with the Subject line: "You trade in kit is on the way" with USPS tracking link

Spoke to google rep and they said my trade-in was still pending for some reason, might be lost in transit. So they ordered a new trade-in kit.

I got a confirmation email about my trade in the same time as my purchase date. It says the kit will be shipped seven days from the phone getting shipped.

Anyway, just contacted Google and they said they are going to ship me a new kit within two days. Jesus so damn slow...my guess is that they never shipped it out or the original kit got lost along the way. Apparently there's a lot of fedex horror story with Google. It got me thinking, what happens if the trade-in phone gets lost during transit? Do Google still give you the credit or what?

Same thing happened to me. I got my trade-in kits today in the mail. I thought they'd leave them on the porch but they crammed them into our mailbox. they're a little smaller than those boxes you get like if you re-order a new book of checks for you bank account.

Been using the 6a for about 4 days now. I'd say it is about what I expected. Definitely has mor heft to it so it feels more premium. It's funny I went from the Essential PH-1 to the 3a and that felt like a cheap toy in comparison, and now the 6a is almost like going back to the PH-1.

Phone definitely gets hot when I push it. Sometimes I play Jurassic World and I think having GPS and the game running really taxes it. Noticed a bump up in performance but nothing insane. IMHO it's a steal if I end up only paying $150 for it, maybe less if I sell the ear buds, haven't decided on that. I have a set of SoundCore wireless ear buds that are still fine. It's just do I want to do away with the "bulk" of them. I don't think I'd go full $450 for this phone. Had I not got such a crazy trade-in offer I probably would've waited to see if they ran some killer sales on the 6 when the 7 drops or for sure a killer sale on the 6a.

Now I just need to box up the old hardware and find the closest USPS drop-off box.

Keep those tracking numbers but that's a good question. My guess would be someone would have to start a claim on the lost package. Google perhaps since it's their label?

The battery on the ear-buds are not good. I use the ear bud one at a time to longer timing. Each one only last 2.5 hr. Total of 5 hr. My cheaper one from amz last much longer.

Contact Google for a replacement, that's not what's advertised.

I am unable to get whatsapp verification code/call on Pixel 6a. It's voice number linked to sim number. Whatsapp is currently on Pixel 4a 5g and trying to setup on 6a. Anyone in the same boat?

Trade in values have reduced significantly. Pixel 3A was $300 now b eing offered $40.

I'm guessing they're purposely not sending the trade-in kits so that the higher value offers expire (they state the quote expires in 30 days), and people will need to trade in with the new lower values.
That's not true. Before this deal even blew up here the people whose deal alerts went off and jumped on it the same day are already getting the kits. At best I think it is FIFO from google for phones and trade in kits. My trade in is already on the way back and will be delivered tomorrow and hopefully have a trade in value by next week.

I think If you enter the IMEI2, it will work because it is compatible but only with physical sim not eSIM
Unlike the pixel 3a, Pixel 6A has only one IMEI number with the "/2" at the end. I believe it means that there is actually two IMEIs under the same IMEI, but I might be mistaken.
Only 1 IMEI in settings

It has 2 different IMEI's, look on the box. IMEI and IMEI2, with the last 2 numbers different

My phone arrived today, and I proceeded to transfer all my data from my Pixel 4a to the 6a.
Once done I started a chat with Visible to transfer my esim.
Lo and behold, Visible do not support esim on the Pixel 6a. I will have to move to a physical sim and once they order the physical sim, my line will stop working until I receive the new physical sim which uses 2 day shipping
What a mess!! They even have the phone for sale on their website. I guess you always get what you pay for.

So, a warning to any Visible customers out there that use esim
Not only that, for some strange reason, they don't support 6A altogether, even though they sell it. Either their compatibility checker is not updated or something weird going on with V
