If you're going in a straight line, yeah, probably. Making turns might be a problem, and you might as well forget about reversing.

Check with your state; not legal for a car to tow a car without proper safety gear (remote brake lights) in most states. Also don't know any state where a person can be in the towed vehicle (for safety).

2nd place was using a hitch (and even worse, a drop hitch) as a recovery point.
3rd place was not relieving some suction from the mud by digging out the wheels and frame first.
4th was a winch should have been used instead even if they did have a recovery rope with a good recovery point.
