This is a deal, but the 3% online retailer is capped at 6K per year so not that much money. With inflation, I hope they will increase it to 9K or something like that. Otherwise like others have said. I'm going back to my 2% Mastercard.
Unrelated question, but best provider or place to apply for a credit card refinancing/debt consolidation loan? My APRs are way too high atm. Appreciate any advice thanks
3% at Alliance is promotional until EOY, according the TOS. AMEX BCE is permanent.
Permanent is a bit of a stretch. A family of 4 can easily exhaust the 6k cap, esp with the inflationary prices right now. Cap One gives 3% back on groceries without any cap. Wells Fargo Autograph Card gives 3% back on gas, dining etc without any caps. So choose based on your situation.
$250 sign up bonus on $2,000 spend for first 6 months. Decent overall card to add to wallet.
Old news. Amex had updated most of their categories to 3%. However, some purchases are still at 1%, such as buying at walmart for example, or getting a car repair. Sofi credit card has 3% on everything for a year so long as you have direct deposit and a bank account, also gives some initial awards of about $20 to $30 if I remember correctly and has other rewards just for signing in. I believe there is a bonus for new customers also. Also, you get your rewards much faster and can redeem to your bank account instantly. No 0% apy on the sofi card though. For the time being my amex is only better than sofi when there are cash back offers.

I've had the BCE Amex card for a month and I'm struggling to find online purchases that qualify for the 3%. AMAZON prime Visa gives me 5% for Amazon purchases. I already get 4% for gas from Costco up to $7k/year which I've never exceeded. Verizon visa gives me 4% on Gas and groceries with no limits. So far only my ebay purchases qualify for the Amex BCE 3% for the online category
Everything else either doesn't qualify or don't accept Amex or PayPal.
I've tried it on these but apparently they don't count
Gas and electricity utility bills online pay with and without PayPal.
Restaurant mobile apps.
Online merchant that sells security and garage door products
Online merchat that uses a shopify checkout.
Other big Online auction houses don't accept Amex or PayPal.
I don't have a pet so I don't shop o like e pet shops.
I suspect Bestbuy might work but I rarely buy from them vs Amazon and walmart.
What other online merchants are you using that qualify for the 3%?

I can confirm best buy online does qualify for the 3%
I'm using the Citi Costco Visa card for gas: 4% cashback at the pump at Costco.

Yeah, but they are 1 statement behind with the cashback unlike Chase.
They don't credit the cashback until the next statement.
I am keeping Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards #1 for the 3% linked to Paypal and Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards #2 for the 3% for gas unless there are better offers elsewhere.
