you need to get with the times. lately nvidia has driver issues.
Show me on the doll where AMD touched you. If you don't care about ray tracing, this is a great card and way better value than Nvidia. If you care about ray tracing, different story.
I mean 700$ for a gpu that wipes the floor with a 3080 is a decent deal.

Personally I consider current ray tracing as a joke not worth having
You have to pay more for a feature that's heavy on resources and skinny on in-play improvements. Maybe in a few years

Xbox Boss Admits That Ray Tracing Might Be Overrated, while 8K Is "Years Away"

I agree with you on 8k. Everything comes down to biology and how much a human eye can resolve; 4k is pushing the limit for a standard sized living room or a desktop environment for the average human eye. For 8k, you need to move the screen a lot closer or make the screen a lot bigger to make it noticeable.

Ray tracing is not a gimmick though. Adoption is in the early stages, but games that implement it properly take big leaps forward in visual quality. Does RT matter for e-sports? Nope. Does it help the realism in a quality single player title like Metro Exodus? Yes.

Based on the reviews I've seen, the 6900XT is roughly at 3080 12GB levels in non-RT games. 3080 Ti/3090 is slightly faster. With costs for a 3080 12GB in the same ballpark as the 6900XT, it's a coin toss.

I am not into ray tracing and I only have a 60hz monitor. I am honestly fine with 1440p or doing the upscaling to get to 60fps/4k. So I preface this to say I am happy still with my 6600xt but it makes me puke and a small part of me dies when I think I paid $700 for it in January…and this deal chuckled at me… I will further note I sold a Vega 56 to get the 6600xt and broke even.

No, the 6900xt beats the 3080 in non RT games handily. It also costs 50-100 bucks less.

5700xt / vega / rx 6800

Hands down the 5700 XT was the worst driver experience I ever had. Only like all the tech channels covered that garbage.

At what resolution? 1080p/1440p sure, 4k no. Also I wouldn't consider 1-5% better at 1080p/1440p "handily". But the truth is without an FPS counter running, nobody would be able to tell the difference between a 6900XT, 3080 12GB, 3080 Ti or 3090 at 1080p/1440p.

I mean every person sees things different I guess? Truly a YMMV situation. I used to be team green until my RX 480, then my 5700xt and as of today my 6900xt. I can say that since I moved from team green to team red, I have had FEWER driver issues than when I was on Nvidia cards - which shocked me at first because that was always the biggest detractor people gave about going Radeon. Now that I have years of running Radeon cards and drivers I can't even remember the last time I had a non hardware issue. (the only hardware issues I have had was a bad panel on one of my monitors and a failing Displayport cable).

So YMMV - I pulled the trigger on the 6900xt for me because it was best bang for buck for what my uses and gaming needs are currently. If Nvidia had provided something comparable price and performance wise I would have rolled with that instead. That said the longer I am running Radeon with no problems the less interest I have in jumping ship LMAO

Nice deal.
At 11.26" long it will fit.
100%, I bought this on the last sale at $720 with the rebate and the length was a major consideration, it was a full 2 inches shorter than the XFX I was also considering.
Thr XFX had a higher clock but I OC it anyway so that was irrelevant to me. Averaging 150-160 fps at ultra on games like Apex Legends at 1440p and couldn't be happier.

Is it good for 4K gaming? I have a Xbox Series X and I really miss PC gaming, looking for going back to PC.

According to steam, over half of all user PCs have a gtx 1060.
I'm one of those still using a GTX1060. One of the longest lived GPU I've had in a system. This is definitely tempting. I am currently on the look out for an upgrade but with the rumor that the next gen could be pushed back till late next year due to supply glut of the current gen cards, these discounts we're seeing probably isn't even the bottom, retail prices could drop even lower. How much lower is anyone's guess.

Even with RT. Value still matters.

Depends what FPS is acceptable to you. I'd argue we are still next generation away from having real 4K cards where average and bottom 5% FPS are 100+ for even the most demanding AAA titles.

If you're okay with 60 FPS in some games, I'd say yes this is a pretty good option.

Well, an Xbox has the equivalent of 3070 in it and the whole system is only 499.

Even with inventory issues mining has inflated GPU prices since the gtx 10 series

I'm mainly a PC gamer, I have a Steam Deck (mainly for retro stuff) and a Switch (for Nintendo stuff) also. I've never had an Xbox product and I haven't had a Playstation since PS3.

Running this card in a Hackintosh and it's been perfect. Can't do that with Nvidia cards beyond the 9xx series unfortunately.
