I bought 2 but one of them had a inspected by bestbuy sealed tape throughout the box while the other box has the security sealed tape. Did I get a used one? Anyone else got the bestbuy inspected tape.

This was a great deal!!!

I have the lower versionEcovacs N8 and a Roborock S6Max. The roborock was faster and the smaller battery in the N8 made cleaning the house slower. It would need to recharge and then finish. I hope the T8 with the larger battery pack fixes those issues.

nope, not the same. I used to own the AIVI (and had bought it from Costco, costco does not sell the T8+) - it has specific and dedicated cameras on the front for AI Object detection

The T8+ uses sensors on the front for regular object detection

From what I'm reading is the difference between T8 and T8 AIVI is the extra camera in the Ecovacs article. 2nd paragraph and last 2 sentences. The + designation is the auto emptying bin.

So the Costco item seems to be T8 AIVI with auto emptying bin. Which would be essentially a T8+. Possibly Costco does this so they do not need to price match other retailers?

Yeah the + designates auto empty bin is included. AIVI is the camera-based AI detection system over the regular sensors. There is no T8+ AIVI, there's only T8 (which is what this deal was without auto empty), T8+ (what this deal is for) and T8 AIVI (camera AI based detection).

The costco AIVI version comes with the auto empty as a Costco exclusive. Costco doesn't price match other retailers ever.

While I havent unboxed mine yet, the 3d object detect sound like there is a camera in front. The pictures also show some sort of camera like panel on the front which is not there in N8+.

While LIDAR can technically detect objects, I am not sure if the LIDARs in robot vacuums are capable of that.

yes, the regular T8 of this deal still has 3d object detection with the sensors from the front. It is not the same as the the cameras of the AIVI. The T8 of this deal uses TrueDetect 3D which uses lasers. AIVI uses cameras + AI to detect objects, and the AIVI lets you remote view the camera
