If you are actually going to use the account or can auto pay some bills with debit, you might consider Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union. 3.3% for up to $20k balance with 15 debit transactions and a monthly dd. The dd can be a deposit from almost any bank. I auto-transfer in $10 from ally monthly and have the cable bill to autopay $2, 15 times a month to earn the preferred rate.
Boo...
Bonuses are for people who don't have existing Chase checking or savings accounts, or those whose accounts have not been closed within the last 90 days. Keep in mind, you can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account.
Left Chase earlier this year for Sofi because of the sign up bonuses and interest rates.
Sofi currently has a 1.8% interest rate on both checking and savings and Chase still has a 0.01% Savings interest rate even after all the Fed hikes.
Obviously the Chase bonus is great for bonus churners and the people who actually go into banks in 2022 but I'm not switching back for 0.01%.

If I already have the $15k in my checking, would that count if I just transfer it to a new savings? ?
No, but if you transfer it to another non-chase account and let it sit there until it clears and then transfer it into the new savings it will count.
If people think they will do this deal sign up for the coupon, chase does sometimes pull offers early. If you have the coupon they will honor it as long as you apply by the expiration date.

Anyone know of a no fee account for a senior? Chase charges monthly fees no matter what.
If you want a "offline" bank with real world branches to visit, 5th 3rd has a completely fee free basic checking account and will give you $375 if you transfer in $500. (It says $500 in direct deposits but I just transferred straight from my other bank)

Just a heads up: I have several Chase CCs and closed a Chase checking account a few years ago. Tried to apply for this deal using my existing login credentials and was denied (with an 800+ credit score). Tried again on a different browser (Brave -> Chrome) and was approved less than five minutes later. Hope this helps somebody.

Thanks for the info...
Sorry, I should've been more specific...looking for a zero fees account for a friend who lives in Canada (and is a senior..if that helps) but wants the convenience of a US bank account when visiting the US....she had a Chase account which charged $4.99 a month regardless unless balance was over $1500....she didn't use the account for a long time due to covid and was hit with all the service charges...got a bunch removed, but still would like a true NO FEES account with no minimum balance requirement if possible....will this 5th 3rd work? Maybe I could open a joint account there?...or open my own account and refer her for a referral bonus? haha lol

How can you autpay $2 , 15 times in a month. I was trying to do same but it's taking entire amount also if you schedule custom amount it's scheduling only once in a month. It will great help if you explain this .

Obviously internet banking is not for everyone but opening a savings account with a 0.01% savings rate is throwing money away.
