If you are actually going to use the account or can auto pay some bills with debit, you might consider Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union. 3.3% for up to $20k balance with 15 debit transactions and a monthly dd. The dd can be a deposit from almost any bank. I auto-transfer in $10 from ally monthly and have the cable bill to autopay $2, 15 times a month to earn the preferred rate.
Boo...
Bonuses are for people who don't have existing Chase checking or savings accounts, or those whose accounts have not been closed within the last 90 days. Keep in mind, you can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account.
Left Chase earlier this year for Sofi because of the sign up bonuses and interest rates.
Sofi currently has a 1.8% interest rate on both checking and savings and Chase still has a 0.01% Savings interest rate even after all the Fed hikes.
Obviously the Chase bonus is great for bonus churners and the people who actually go into banks in 2022 but I'm not switching back for 0.01%.

Would the following work for DD requirement?
1. Open account for the spouse.
2. Add myself as the joint owner.
3. Add my direct deposit to Chase checking.
I already have Chase Checking and Saving, so not sure if that would work.
I opened this account for my wife. I sent money via Zelle from my bank account(chase) to her bank account(checking). Then moved $15k from checking to savings.
Is this sufficient for a saving account bonus? TIA.

Savings account requirement is relatively simple, requires new funds that have not already been on the account holders name.
Anyone else get this message? I have no idea why. Never have had an issue before with opening accounts.
We can't open an account for you based on the info you told us
Yes this happens randomly with selected banks. Will require you walk-in to a branch to open the account now, pls make sure to setup an appointment and carry ID.
Is there a set direct deposit amount that you need? For example can I have $50 direct deposited from my check (job let's me setup multiple deposit accounts).
Anyone know how often you can open checking accounts without it causing some kind of problem for opening too many?
I also have an amex offer of open savings account with $25k for $350 bonus, so would come out slightly better doing chase checking and amex savings, but not sure if it's worth fooling with 2 companies.
Friends, Need your help. I opened a chase saving account. I initiated a $15,000 deposit immediately. It took couple of days to get deposited into my chase saving account. I noticed that $5 service fees in my account.
so balance went below $15K for 1 day unfortunately. I deposited again $100 immediately to make balance above $15000.
I don't know why they charged service fees as new account takes time to get funds from other account. Can you please advice ? Will this impact my $200 and $100 extra bonus ? This is a bad experience.

Checking account bonus credited 8 days after first direct deposit
Could be YMMV
I am optimistic, it does not count.
Banks have become more intelligent, when it comes to considering those in regards to bank bonus.

Account should be kept active for 90 days or bonus will be taken back, refer pinned comments.
I would keep direct deposit for atleast 2 months, to avoid trouble.
