If you are actually going to use the account or can auto pay some bills with debit, you might consider Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union. 3.3% for up to $20k balance with 15 debit transactions and a monthly dd. The dd can be a deposit from almost any bank. I auto-transfer in $10 from ally monthly and have the cable bill to autopay $2, 15 times a month to earn the preferred rate.
Boo...
Bonuses are for people who don't have existing Chase checking or savings accounts, or those whose accounts have not been closed within the last 90 days. Keep in mind, you can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account.
Left Chase earlier this year for Sofi because of the sign up bonuses and interest rates.
Sofi currently has a 1.8% interest rate on both checking and savings and Chase still has a 0.01% Savings interest rate even after all the Fed hikes.
Obviously the Chase bonus is great for bonus churners and the people who actually go into banks in 2022 but I'm not switching back for 0.01%.

Friends, Need your help. I opened a chase saving account. I initiated a $15,000 deposit immediately. It took couple of days to get deposited into my chase saving account. I noticed that $5 service fees in my account.
so balance went below $15K for 1 day unfortunately. I deposited again $100 immediately to make balance above $15000.
I don't know why they charged service fees as new account takes time to get funds from other account. Can you please advice ? Will this impact my $200 and $100 extra bonus ? This is a bad experience.
How did transfer happen, if wire transfer then it is the answer.
There should be no charges with ACH.
Also check if it was linked to Chase checking account or not?
If not then charges for idle time with no funds likely.
How many days was it with zero balance?
Calling customer support or stopping by branch would clarify everything.
Consider setting up an appointment for in person visit though.
Good luck finding it.

Thank you for your response. There was no issues in transfer fees. It was free.
The main issue is with chase saving account maintanance fees - $5.
System debited and balance went to $14995 for 1 day. I reached out to customer care, they said they cannot confirm until 90 days over.
If it impacts the cashback bonus, then i don't want to keep $15,000 balance because anyways it is not going to get me a bonus. I can transfer amount back to high yield saving account SOFI.
I don't understand Chase. This was likely created as an incentive and at the same time they are implementing a hefty fee for checking accounts. I believe $25 per month. Far more than what I pay for an advantage filled credit card. The one criteria to avoid the fee is maintaining at least $15k in checking. Sad for those in a low income bracket.
where does it say you have to keep $15k in checking? nobody forces you do use their services though.

Anyone has similar experience ?
If you were to login their app, I remember to have seen a timeline (deposit by Date) by when you need to start keeping 15k.
As long you met it, you should be fine.
Now that you transferred additional 1k, hoping it is alright.
But consider looking for it on website or app, then decide as needed.
My message is to help those who ask in how many days is the bonus credited, not to enter in debate. Thanks.
my msg was to clear up on what you said. you might have gotten the credits but it doesnt mean it would stick if you didnt do any of their requirements for the next 91 days.

you dont need "$15k" in checking to open up a new checking account without any monthly fee. their requirement is very simple for checking. without a direct deposit, just keep at least $1500 a day in your checking account. no monthly fee.
to earn their $300 bonus for a new checking account is diff. you need a direct deposit setup for it. nothing related to $15000 that you mentioned.

Correct. My statement and your latter statement applies to this thread. "For new Chase savings customers: Open a new Chase Savings account, deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money within 30 days of coupon enrollment, and maintain a $15,000 balance for 90 days from coupon enrollment."
Cheers

not the same one. you asked about "checking" account only.

you're right, I copied and pasted incorrectly re: a savings account. The ops post is generic and does not discuss all Chase checking options. This is a personal issue I faced that is related to my Chase checking.
Chase Premier Plus Checking
For the Chase Premier Plus Checking account, you can avoid the $25 monthly fee by meeting one or more of the following criteria for each monthly statement period:
An average beginning day balance of $15,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying deposits

Thank you so much. I am using a chase app. The bonus is tracked but not confirmed.
First step is tracked with green circle and checked marked with it.
Current step is with only green cirlcle but not checked marked. I believe it will have a checked marked after 90 days period.
Do you see same status ?
They have made very tricky to trap customer and the last, not to give any bonus.

op was very clear. it did not mention about $15k for checking. only direct deposit for checking which is correct.
you can always read a better description right below op from sds deal editor. they did mention "Total checking". i am not sure why you even looked at the premier plus. why didnt you just look at the most affordable and realistic option and go from there?
its not just your issue. $15k requirement for a simple checking account isnt for everyone. it shouldnt even be offered.

Checking account bonus credited 8 days after first direct deposit
Could be YMMV
What does that have to do with what they said?
