The 120hz is only helpful for gaming as far as I can tell, so no on that front. The U7G is a better tv than this as it gets brighter, has more dimming zones, and handles reflections better, so yes for Netflix/Amazon content.

Returned this after buying. Tv gets bright and picture quality was good but no motion interpolation and content was juddery when streaming. Motion just wasn't as good as even entry level Sonys. If you care about any of those things, would recommend a better tv. If not this one is actually a good tv for the price.

Also costco has u6gr (Roku) for $20 cheaper. Much better return policy and Roku goodness for $20 less!

Bought one of these about a month ago for $430 for my son. Got it set up on Sunday and it looks nice and functions well. Quite an improvement over the Samsung TV he had in his bedroom.
