Anybody know how long these take to unlock? I read online that Verizon devices lock for only 60 days, but for a 50% discount 60 days seems like a really short time.

Asking because I might do this for my GF, and if I can just buy the phone for $300, get on a Verizon (or maybe AT&T, but boys in red seem cheaper) cheapy plan then switch back to her old carrier that might be worth the hassle of switching. One month of single line service from verizon is 70, so $300+$70+$70 is $440 for an unlocked Galaxy Z Flip3. Considering price for unlocked from Best Buy is $850, this seems like a steal.

That's right. Hard pull for new account and soft pull for existing account to add a new line.

Att is cheaper than the red guys especially if your an existing att fiber(wifi) customer. I dought this device is 300. Pobably a trade in promotion or some type of monthly credit if put on installaments. Which means in 36 months you will own the device paying $9 MONTHLY. so to answer your question.NO

You don't have any real info on specs. All we know are rumors and that could all be wrong.
Exactly. Some of these people speak out their ass with no concrete evidence and almost every year there's a surprise or two unless it's a Pixel phone. The battery and camera are almost certain to be upgraded but how much who knows. Web sites are the same way and release articles for views based off their speculations. Some leaks come true, some are off a mile.

Take this article for what it's worth for the curious and they at least admit all of this is speculation. I have the Flip 3 T-Mobile variant from the $550 deal and got the Galaxy watch 4 Classic 46mm with LTE so not a terrible deal. I never switched from my iPhone 11 Pro. After playing with it the folding wears off quick and the camera and battery life leave a lot to be desired. I also hate the watch UI and stuck with my Versa 2 FitBit. This is all YMMV and my opinion but I will say for $300 this phone is worth it easily to use for trade in or to use but the folding phone is unnecessary and once open is a regular phone that's not dust proof and much much more fragile than a regular phone.

How long do you have to keep service plan to unlock device? Are you stuck in a contract?

If the device is on AT&T, it will be available to unlock after 6 months of service. This was the case with my s22 ultra which I bought fully paid, no Installment plan) from Samsung but it was the AT&T version.

There are leaks about this phone all over the internet, there won't be any huge upgrades this year.

I have this phone, got it free from work. It's a very solid device, hinge is still holding well after a year of use. Battery will be an issue for some, it's not very big. Only issue I have is that screen protector is peeling off at the fold location after few drops of sweat got under it. I don't think screen protector is replaceable.

It's not a trade in Best Buy is making a massive down payment on the device then financing the rest with the carrier or paying the rest outright.

It is however compatible with the current att trade in deal. So you get $800 - taxes - activation/upgrade fee (can be negated with a fan)

After applying the fan (take a paystub into an att store and have a rep see if you get one)

When the bill generates go to the bill details section and find the activation fee and use the "why am I getting charged this" button and dispute the charge. It's automated and won't even fight you.
