This is the newer high speed fuel model. Smaller head and lower torque than the original fuel, but faster spin.

That's how you're supposed to use it - break it loose with arm power, then pull the trigger to zip it off the rest of the way. Even the Fuel won't break a lot of bolts free on its own and trying to do so without loosening first can result in bashed knuckles.

The 2nd gen model Fuel has 55lb/ft of torque and is much larger. OP's version is the 3rd generation version ( in the M12 ratchet line) that retains similar size as the OG brushed motor version ( its slightly larger all around) but has a high speed motor while retaining the 35ft/lb torque as the OG.

I think it's a great deal. For a relatively new tool which goes for 199 regular price for the tool only. I got a great deal on mine, but I also got it with 2 other tools. I THINK it wound up being 330 for 3 bare tools but no battery, charger, etc. I think this is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This tool seems to get great reviews from people. I'm tempted to jump on this as I could definitely use it.

Am I the only one starting to build a collection of chargers I do not need? Is anyone looking to buy just the chargers?

Nope, you aren't alone. I have 5 chargers. Just give it out for free. You probably won't make much off of it. You'll see tons of it on ebay and Craigslist selling the exact same chargers like yourself.

Isn't the brushed one still preferred, or did things change?

AFAIK, Brushed motors aren't as efficient and usually requires the brush to be replaced over the life of the tool.

I'd guess that 99% of us haven't ever used a tool long enough to wear out its brushes. And, for most of us, ratchets will run all day on one battery, brushless or not.

The brushed version of this tool is often preferred because of it's size. The only real downside to it is that it's ratchet head isn't as robust and can break if a mechanic uses too much force on it.

I prefer the brushed over the fuel version. It's lighter and smaller, making it easier to get in tighter spaces.

Is it as powerful? Every time I use mine I end up turning it by hand.

From what I remember, the standard has 35 ft lbs of torque, while the fuel has 55 ft lbs. The fuel is also a little faster. I never use mine to loosen bolts, and rarely to finish tightening them, which is why the standard one works great for me.

Ah, I didn't realize there was a new gen. Thanks for the heads up!

Yes, and now apparently there is a 4th gen.
