Finally seeing RTX gpus "under" MSRP. Comes with a free EVGA Z12 Keyboard.

You can also get the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P5-3767-KL for $520 which is pretty good for a better cooler. Also comes with the same Z12 keyboard for free.

This late in the game, it should be closer to $300 for x70 cards. I'm tired of stans giving Nvidia (and AMD by extension) a free pass to arbitrarily jack up prices to levels vastly outpacing inflation.
Msrp was shit to begin with..
While this is one of the best deals on a quality RTX 3070 yet, prices for 3000 series cards have nowhere to go but down. Nvidia has a ton of stock lying around. I think we'll see the 3070s under $400 in a couple of months. Plus, the market will have a lot more used 3000 cards available. IMHO, $400 is a strong but price for the 3070, and I'm in no hurry.

I would spend an extra $30 for the FTW3 ultra for better cooling, and VRM in case you decided to OC it. Also, a nice-looking ARGB. https://www.evga.com/products/pro...P5-3767-KL

I'm not sure why the knuckle draggers are downvoting you for that comment on here. I have a 3070 xc3 and would gladly give $30 for the FTW. It's quieter and clocks better.

What about a 2070 Super? I only care about 1440 gaming and do not need 4000000 FPS, 50-60+ just fine to me, would you upgrade to a 3070 or ride until 4070 drop?

I did not really like this card on 1440p. The problem is the .1% min. I have a 3070 XC which has been retired to bedroom duty and I left the 2080 super in my main computer. It's better with games like fallout 76 or destiny 2. You just don't drop frames like the 3070 did. The 3070 does have a higher overall FPS. If you just watch YouTube videos you're going to think it's better. If you actually play games and care about things like latency the 2080 super is better. it's more consistent. If the rumors are to be believed the new 4070 should be close to a 3090 which would be amazing for 1440p. You could run 165 FPS and really turn up the settings without having much in the way of frame drops.

$300? Lol
The man's right x70 cards should be around 300. You can get an Xbox series x which is just a PC with a custom OS for this price. Without windows it's going to perform as good or better then this.

You know that gaming consoles get sold at a loss right? This comparison doesn't make sense.

I would ride it out for a while. If you see a killer deal on a 3080 in a couple of months, it may be worth picking up only because the new cards will not be discounted until 2023 most likely.

When the time comes, I'm hoping this will be in my price range. My 980ti won't last forever and the jump is going to be noticeable...

I have a 980 ti as well.

I am wondering if I should wait for 40 series?

yes but overkill. if you are planning to upgrade the whole system soon then you could move the card with the new system. or if you are keeping the system a long time you could get the 2060 that is on sale and save $260

Wowzers... Not only is this a pretty decent GPU, but it's actually discounted below MSRP.
msrp for this gen (and 2xxx gen) was not aligned with actual performance

what you're seeing now is closer to what we should be paying, it should be lower tho

in what world does one need to pay $2,000+ for a high end card that cannot even do high fps at 4k? you now see 3090 prices coming down to $1,200

the 3070 is...... $500+ for a 1440p card that struggles with RTX? c'mon

prices need to go lower, this is a 70 level card, they used to be $299

even w/ inflation i'd just randomly assign $399 because it's the mainstream mid end card

You think the XBX has is the equivalent to the 3070? I have the ps5, xbx and a pc rig with a 5900x and a 3080ti, and although the ps5 and xbx on performance can run 60 fps and some games to 120 fps, it's probably not likely it can run 1440p 144 fps on ultra settings. Consoles are probably better optimized than pc games, but in terms of sheer raw power, the 3070 is probably above any next gen console.

I don't know why I'm even replying as I don't care who buys or doesn't but the 1070 was $379 MSRP at launch in 2016. Adjusted to USD inflation that is about $425. So, I'll concede that maybe a 3070 should be a little lower, but I don't see it going lower than $400. Of course, I'll see if I'm wrong.
