Maybe the OP can change the price to 99 dollars , likw WiseFriction posted.

Why no love for this model? It is touchscreen Lenovo Flex 3 Chromebook 11 inch, is it because it isn't Intel processor? The reviews look good.

The other more popular one is NON-touch screen and is INTEL processor for 79 dollars and is getting more love. Why?

20 dollars more for touch screen and 2028 End of Service date.
The 79 dollar non-touch has 2027 End of Service date.

Let's have a discussion about this. Smilie
I purchased a MT8183 Chromebook last year and returned it pretty quick after comparing it to my N4000 and N4020 equipped Chromebooks. You are correct, the speed difference is very noticeable. The MT8183 can't even break 10,000 in the Octane test. That said, this is a great price for a touchscreen convertible if you don't need the speed.
I readbefore from benchmarks that general purpose browsing the n4020 is faster than the MT8183, but it is the other way around when using android apps. I have the lenovo 10e chrometablet with MT8183 and it is noticeably not as stable/fast as a n4020, but that might be attributed to running chrome on tablet mode? One major point for me was that the n4020 can output video (externally) at 1080p or 1440p at 60Hz but the MT8183 only at 720p.

Let's have a discussion about this. https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif
It's a good discussion to have.

Just from my own personal experience (of having 5 ChromeOS devices), the Intel processor (esp. a Core iSeries) makes a lot of difference. But I don't know what the data say... and I would like to.

From other peoples' anecdotal experiences, the difference between eMMC storage vs. true SSD also makes a lot of difference. But I don't know what the data say... and I would like to.

Do you have a link to this more popular $79 Chromebook deal? Curious as to what type of Intel processor it has, as well as what type of storage drive it has.

(and the RAM as well)

My one piece of anecdotal evidence seemingly/somewhat counter to the above is my Lenovo 10e ChromeOS tablet... which has a MediaTek processor and is quite snappy.

However... I also don't push it as hard as I push my Spin 713, so there's also that.

I'm just looking for an inexpensive tablet but mostly looking for speed just for browsing without much lag or studder.

.... I just bought the Lenovo touchscreen version and will report back what score it gets in Octane test, hopefully tomorrow.
I think it was the combination of the Lenovo touchscreen model has 1 extra year of support (2028), plus was IPS screen that helped make up my mind to go touchscreen.

I also just got the ASUS 17 inch chromebook with intel 4500 chipset for 79 dollars last week from Best Buy, that gets over 25,000 Octane score.
I should get it tomorrow with one day delivery. Hope it is good experience because it would be my first touchscreen chromebook. I believe the MT8183 is better for Android type stuff and touch screen apps should work better than non-touch screen . Time will tell.

Do you have touchscreen chromebooks, and how do you feel about them.

i had bought an acer chromebook refurb via newegg a few years ago (ugh, the rebate process was pita... thinking about it now still sends chills down my spine).

anyway, touchscreen feature was really nice and very helpful, completely contrary to my original expectations. like being able pinch/zoom and tap on things instead of having to use the trackpad was nice.

... sorry for confusing you. I bought the Asus 17.3 inch chromebook last week for 79 dollars, it was clearance price for Excellent Condition Open Box, it is IPS panel with fantastic user review ratings. LOUD speakers, actually the first impression most people get is "THIS IS A MONSTER" it is so HUGH, ... that was my first impression. A few years ago I bought 11 inch chromebook and I still love it. But this MONSTER with loud sound watching movies was like a hdtv experience, it blew me away. Most of us that get Excellent Condition OPEN box report it seemed brand new with 1-2 battery cycles on it when we received it. I tooks perfect to me. I put a 500 gb microSD in it , and it's a beauty.

I am buying this Lenovo 11 inch touchscreen model because I never had a touchscreen chromebook before, and it is also IPS screen ... so hopefully it will make a good companion to my 17 inch monster. It is the lenovo touchscreen I'm getting tomorrow, the 17 inch ASUS is old news, I got it 3-4 days ago. Smilie

Yes, I grabbed two 11" Lenovo C340's when Wally cleared them out last year. The C340 has a N4000 processor and I really don't notice a difference compared to my N4020's. I really don't use the touchscreen much but the IPS display is pretty nice. The C340's build quality is extremely solid so I assume the flex is the same. I also just about grabbed the 17.3" Asus last week but, after seeing it at Bestbuy, I really don't have a need for that beastSmilie Out of all my Chromebooks I use the 11 1/2" Lenovo 3's with N4020's the most.

Thanks but I'm the farthest thing from a guru at anything. I've just been using Chromebooks since they were released back in 2012 and own way too many of themSmilie
