2nd Gen Cube is better as said. I have 2 of these and 2 of the 4K Max sticks and the Cube is faster/snappier. It has double the internal storage (16GB vs 8GB) which helps if you use Kodi. Another advantage is it comes with a wired ethernet adapter which I use.

Good chance that Amazon will match the price if both Best Buy and Target have it cheaper. If that happens you can get the 20% trade-in discount.

i rejoice how amazon is stuck with containers full of these,

while for years they were sold at ridiculously high prices.

I know right, no reason this should have been 119 and is still 119 as the non sale price. I feel like they picked 119 instead of 99 because they would rather people buy fire television sets instead

im not getting my hopes up but i have been wondering if this means we will maybe get a 3rd gen cube in october, with wifi 6 and av1 like the max, but probably not.

I messed around with Amazon streaming devices for years, buying a new one routinely because eventually, it would just get progressively slower/less snappy. Got an NVIDIA Shield Pro back in 2020. I'll never go back to Amazon streaming devices. I have my Shield Pro + Plex and it's just miles better. Just as responsive as the day I bought it. Worth the investment IMO. It being able to play pretty much any android based game and stream PC games down to your TV if you have a gaming PC is another benefit.

Original (Gen 1) came with an adapter for Ethernet but was capped at 100Mbps. This made it pretty useless, especially when mine is right next to the router. Does the Gen 2 allow for greater bandwidth via Ethernet?
