What would you recommend for a MFF PC for streaming game console games on Twitch, using my existing external capture card.
What kind of capture card is it? USB, I assume?

I don't know a damn thing about Twitch, but a simple Google search shows that the 8th gen might be able to handle at least 720P smoothly, possibly up to 1080P with the integrated graphics. That said, if you're that worried about it, I'd just go for a SFF PC so you could add a low profile video card, if needed. The SFF ones also take desktop RAM and have higher clocked CPU's

That is kind of bare bones and wouldn't really work for streaming console gameplay.
You are better off getting your own SSD / RAM than relying on a really used one and that too for a premium. $370 is steep. My $0.02!

Yes, USB capture card. Would like to stream in 1080P. Looking for something small to keep at the TV and really only use for streaming. It would just be capturing the video via the external card and doing the upload to Twitch.

These Dell, Lenovo, and HP 1L PCs are great for a lot of things, but this is not a great price. Nearly $400 for a USED 6th gen in 2022? My similarly spec'ed Lenovo was over $100 cheaper than this, and that was ~2 years ago (and by no means a firesale deal at the time).

Can build a 12th gen i3 Mini ITX system for the same price and have room for GPU later on if you desired.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/304547817541 i5-6600T 128GB SSD / 8GB for $188. For a 5+ years old machine, probably better to not splurge a lot.
I agree, these sub-$200 deals pop up all the time, I wish I could find more thinkpads that people somehow find them. Regarding this one in your link, I was thinking about getting one as Plex server, I am getting fed up with Raspberry Pi and restart/vm/mounting issues and even worse resolution issues. How is the power consumption and fan noise with these? Also wanted to run security camera software too.

I've mainly used the HP and Lenovo units from this generation. Power consumption is around 10W at idle, and fairly quiet, depending on the specific units. Some can get a little annoying if they're right next to you and the fan continually hunts up and down in RPM, and all can get noisy if the fan bearings go out and need to be replaced.

For Plex, I would recommend at least a 7th Gen if you plan on doing modern transcoding. 6th gen doesn't have full HVEC support, and will not transcode 10bit HEVC/H.265 (8-bit is fine, but not 10-bit).

I don't think this is a great price. I got a similar Lenovo, but with an 8th gen 6-core processor for about this price a couple of weeks ago. It was a refurb on ebay.

Also, who needs 32GB of ram with a quad core processor?
Agreed.

1) Quad Core - SUPER LOW POWER CPU. These T Series chips are waaaay slower than normal chips.
2) It's a 6-7 year old chip. You can get this for a lot less.
3) You do NOT need 32GB RAM in one of these little boxes.

If you want to? Search Ebay for a 7th gen i5 or i7, and use it as an HTPC. intel's 7th gen iGPUs and later have proper HD Support for netflix and other apps.

I personally haven't used these, but I have a 2-year old ThinkCentre m75 Tiny with Ryzen 5 Pro 3400GE as an AIO setup. Extremely quiet. I suggest adding another 8GB if getting the $188 deal. If running security camera, you would need storage as well.

I picked up the 16GB ram version of this model (same CPU & SSD) for $150 on CraigsList so $300+ is outrageous. YMMV.

I wouldn't waste money on this.
It's 7 to 10 year old tech, not compatible with Windows 11, and has limited upgradability.

You're better off buying any laptop with i3 10th or 11th gen, and upgrade the RAM for this price.
