Hi,

I've been using this monitor for a mixed use home office / xbox series x and I find it awesome. I'm getting a second one for a dual screen set up as it's VESA compatible.

It has 2 hdmi and 1 display port so I leave all the devices plugged in and just switch using the screen controls.

According to ccc, price is usually between $300-350 and just dropped to $247.7 today.

Update: Newegg also offer a similar pricing https://www.newegg.com/lg-27ul500...6824025944 > $249.99

I don't understand... Why would anyone ever want a lower pixel density? You can always scale as needed.

Anyways, my only complaint of this monitor (and ones of similar design) is that the ports point straight back instead of downwards or sideways. This design makes it a little more difficult to have monitors on desks that are against a wall and increases the chance of breaking a port if a cable ever gets snagged or pushed against something.

Feel like to make full use of 4k, I'd like to have a 32-inch or above.

I agree with needing 32-inch to make use of 4K. I have two of this monitor and I have 125% scaling on so UI and text is usable at about arm's length, making the effective resolution around 1700p in terms of how much content I can fit on the screen. I have a 32-inch 4K at work and I can use that at 100% scaling, giving me an extra 400px of usable vertical content. I'd say 32-inch is probably the sweet spot for 4K before being able to see the individual pixels again, I wouldn't get a monitor bigger than that.

Some people say they actually use 32" 4k unscaled. They must have really good eyesight.

I've used a 32" 4k briefly, and the pixel density is good enough and having a larger work area is nice (almost like having dual monitors when you put apps on left/right sides of the screens), but I am absolutely using scaling at that size (I mostly work in macOS which scales nicely, but do PC gaming and a few other things in Windows 10 which also scales fine for my purposes). 32" 4k unscaled is usable for me.. like I can read text and all, but it would be really uncomfortable to use on regular basis, but I am in my 40's and my eyes strain easier.

For PC gaming with monitor at arms length, 27"/28" is the better size as 32" is too big at that distance (too much head turning / eye movement). I have mounting arms, but personally don't like having to move my monitors back and forth between work/productivity distance and gaming distance.

I have a slightly higher-end version of this that I've used for the last several years. Picture quality is fantastic, but the plastic backing is very creaky with the included mount.

Good to know. My first gaming monitor had that same issue. Moving to a dual arm mount and may include this one for the second slot. I actively look for non-premium mounts for cheaper prices because I don't need them
