Just not worth it with the M1 being a little more for what I think is a ton more life expectancy. The 256 Air 5 from Shop my exchange for $549 with no tax was the best deal so far.
A "little" more? $549 currently for the base. That's 50% more.

Depends on how you use it. My wife browses the internet, uses the FB app and watches an occasional movie. M1 is overkill.

Actually it's 37.5% more. I bet you'll get more than 37.5% more life out of the M1 with updates.
Yes. My bad on the math. Good is good enough is good enough for a lot of folks lol.

Agree. I have an iPad 2 for almost a decade now. This will last 5-8 years easily.

If it were my wife we'd end up replacing it within 2 years anyway. M1 or not.

I agree, I don't know what these people are doing buying last-gen iPad for $400 when you can buy open box iPad Air 5 for a considerably better processor. However I do agree that most iPad users don't use it for anything other than browse internet, read, shop, etc

That's cool but what does that really help with? Unless you do a lot of intense gaming or graphic design/video editing, I bet most couldn't tell the difference.

Very true. Manufacturers do these small upgrades to already fantastic products just to keep their sales up. Sometimes less is more. In my case the 4th gen would be all need for a while.
