Hoping the Ultra pricing lasts at least a few days. Just purchased a Note 20 from the bay to trade in.

So for activate now with VZW, would that incur the $35 activation fee if I put my current VZW sim in? Some bby store would want you to really "activate now" although it is "unlocked" phone.

S22, 22+ and ultra all dropped in price (for activate now). Anyone able to get BB to pricematch via chat?

Thanks. Did you just add a line on to your brothers plan and then cancel later?
No new line, it's a device upgrade on an existing line on T-Mobile (I assume that's the reason why they need the phone number for, besides verification).

By the way I'm not the person you originally asked a question about. But I think I had similar situation. I am part of T-Mobile group plan and the account belongs to my friend.

How did you accomplish that with your brothers line? Didn't they require the sim card from his existing phone? Did your brother have to be present with you? I'm trying to figure out how to do this without my own postpaid plan as I have a sibling on att postpaid, but he lives in a different state

Sorry if I confused you. I edited my previous post explaining that I'm not the person you originally asked the question about and I'm part of T-Mobile group plan. I'm not the account owner. I went by myself and gave them my friend's SSN and my existing number.

I guess with your situation, if your sibling's line qualifies, ask him his SSN (at least the last 4 number), give it to BB together with your sibling's phone number, be on the phone with your sibling the time you're doing the trade in. When they send the code to your sibling's number, you can get that code right away.
In my case there's no sim card involved (at least not physically).
I'm sure other would have a better way to do this, but that's all I can think of. Hopefully I don't confuse you more.

Anyone add a new line to their plan (TMobile, at&t) to get the activate now discount and then cancel/port out shortly afterwards? Looks like new line/account prices are $100 cheaper for at&t and T-Mobile. S22+ at 649, S22 ultra at $749

I purchased an s22 last week by trading in a s22 but the battery life is not quite as expected. Would I be a able to return the s22 and go for the s22 ultra listed for 849 today ?

Suppose for a second the carrier is not xfinity but one of the big-four nationwide carriers. Activate now means Best Buy must do one of the following:
1. Open a new postpaid account and line with the carrier if you are not already its customer.
2. Open a new line on an account you already have with the carrier.
3. Replace the device on an existing line you have with the carrier.

For 1 and 2 they would give you a sim from that carrier. For 3 you can transfer the sim from old phone to the new.

So you see what you wanted would have been possible on activate now with 3, if you were with one of the big-four (or perhaps Google Fi). Unfortunately Best Buy does not offer xfinity mobile, so you have to do activate later where you can deal with xfinity yourself separate from Best Buy.

There have been reports in the past where the Best Buy agent just gave you a sim from one of the carriers but didn't bother to activate it, while still giving you the activate now price. That isn't what they are supposed to do so YMMV.
Thanks, this is helpful. Do you know if you can open a line on an account you already have with a carrier (option 2), and then cancel the line/port out shortly after?

Yes. You can do that. I'd recommend porting out instead of canceling.
