Thanks, got one. Have to replace an old 6TB in my unRAID server that's starting to give read errors. My parity drive is already a 12TB so I'll increase my server by 6tb. Total usable space would be 114TB.

Data borders, graphic designers, photographers. People with movie/Plex servers. Gamers that don't want to uninstall games due to ISP speeds or caps that make it prohibitive to redownload.

You should have at least two for redundancy, for data that you don't want to lose.

Surely, it depends on your job and experience.

You've never bought every release of any particular brand of anything... unless maybe you're an Apple user or locked into a government contract.

Hard drive brands go through cycles of reliability. No manufacturer is perfect. It's really just snobbishness at this point.

Guess you haven't learned about cmr drives and they work just fine like WD .
They are all rated for enterprise environments .
