Heater box is still being made?

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Turns off every 30 minutes. The cpu cooler it came with cannot psychically cool the cpu so it causes the computer to turn off every 30 minutes. THE CPU COOLER THEY USE IS NOT EVEN 10$ If you dont mind completely voiding your warranty and having to spend another 300+ dollars to have this computer run NORMAL no heatsinks on ram on a 2000$ computer? Are you serious? and having to wait hours to get hung up on go ahead. This has to be the worst experience i have ever had with prebuilt pcs spending this much money. I will never be purchasing an asus prebuilt ever again and i recommend staying away unless you dont mind voiding your warranty and having to spend 300$ and rebuild the WHOLE pc."

What's going on with Asus PC's and laptops? I just see so many complaints lately. Sounds like they are starting to cheap out.

I took the Mobo, GPU and cpu put back the case with everything else on sale in the COVID days. GPU was sold and I kept the free Mobo and cpu for my current build. Case is junky but Mobo is ROG and is pretty nice.

The open box might be a good buy and then replace the case and cpu heat sink , I am seeing $1365, pretty much getting the case and the cooling that you want for the retail price lol

I bought it. The CPU cooler is fine. The graphics card puts out a ton of heat under load. The lack of intake fans heats this up too much. Swap the case and add fans.

How is this value-wise though? Cheaper than custom build? I don't see a lot of sale on prebuilts from best buy and I have a ton of gift cards to burn.

It depends on the application and delivery more than the cooler. I had ordered it previously and it turned out that the cooler was loose with the thermal compound improperly applied. It was relatively simple $5+10 minute fix for me in that case.

3080s (10G) are pretty readily available in the 700-800 range, and the rest of the components might be worth $800 on paper but its highly unlikely that you'd get that reselling it.
