Nintendo Switch Games: WarioWare: Get it Together! or Miitopia

This is how Nintendo works and people still pay full price. I have a switch and only a few games for it. I'm just going to wait for them to make their next console. At that point they'll just start porting over all the old games again like Mario Kart 8 and Zelda,charging $60 a pop to play on the new system. Then on the switch the prices will drop to something reasonable. It's ridiculous that they still get away with this yet Playstation and Xbox games ,especially their exclusives, drop in price. What's sad is people know Nintendo does this and still buys the games at these prices. So Nintendo thinks "why should I lower the prices if these schmucks still pay full price for almost 10 year old games?". The only pro about paying full price for these games is that you can sell them a couple of years later for like 95% of the new price you bought them for.

Luigi's Mansion 3 and Metroid Dread are also really good but I don't know if I'd recommend buying them at full price. Try to get them for under $40.

I buy cartridges as well, if I put more than twenty hours on a game I buy digital on first sale and sell cartridge.

$40 for a 5 year old game, the rest should already be 20 MSRP

I highly doubt many switch games will be ported over to Nintendo's next console. The only reason that they were in this generation was that the wii u sold poorly and not many people experienced the games.

The reason people are okay with Nintendo's higher prices is because most of us understand that Nintendo is a video game company first and foremost. They don't have the endless deep pockets that Microsoft has. They don't have the hundreds of other products that Sony makes to keep their gaming division afloat. Nintendo just makes video games and video game consoles.

So paying slightly more for their products ensures that there's at least one company who's primary focus is video games of superior quality. You may not enjoy their games or think they're "for kids" but you can't deny that Nintendo's quality is a step or two above all their other competitors.

And having a company that's just focused on video games means they are the most likely to innovative and create something new since they aren't forced to divert resources to other sectors of the business. It's how we got the Wii's motion controls that everyone at the time tried to emulate. Or how everyone is now attempting to make their own handheld gaming tablet because of the success of the Switch. Or how there has been a slew of BOTW clones since it released. Microsoft and Sony would never be brave enough to try something new and different like Nintendo because they got profits and shareholders to appease. Even their current ventures into VR is only because a different competitor started doing it first and they saw potential profits there.

Me: Nintendo games are not inherently higher quality than other platforms
You: Their sales numbers say other wise.
Me: Sales? So Candy Crush beats all Nintendo games in "quality" because it has made more money than any one Nintendo game? LOL..okay.

Your goalpost, now you have a problem with it. That was your point, I was directly addressing using your logic of a low quality yet highly profitable game. 'Quality' and 'sales' are tied together is what you attempted to say. One must prove the other was your point. I disproved that now you are "moving goalposts" from your argument.

I'll wait while you think of up games that give an equivalent experience and quality.

Huh? Are you saying other systems do not have quality, AAA games as good as or better than MK or Zelda? Brand recondition and 'quality' / entertainment value are no where near the same thing.

20 year old side scrollers or jump puzzle games? Kidding, they make great games but mainly old school rehashes everyone else has moved on from.

Their sales numbers say other wise. It's crazy to me that you're trying to argue that people have moved on from Nintendo's "rehashed" games yet they're very obviously a successful company.

Didn't read the rest of the rant as I can only assume it did not go up hill from there. Glad you enjoy the Switch, great console, but know that it does not care if you grow past it one day....which most of us have.

Immediately you removed context from my comment and start talking about just quality titles. I've told you multiple times I wasn't just speaking about quality. I clarified that in my next post to you, which I think you understood because this was your follow up response.

This is you moving goal posts. You specifically talk about some of the genres they make well but of course, now you're saying that everyone has moved on. You're pushing the discussion in a new direction now.

My response

Now we're actually talking about sales records. Not because I'm trying to claim that sales records = quality, but because you specifically brought up a new topic of discussion; people having moved on from Nintendo games. That was my rebuttal to this statement. Of course though you again can't follow the conversation and interpret me having said quality = sales.

This conversation has devolved exactly as I expect. You can't think of ways to disprove what I've said so you resort to being condescending and writing off my entire argument because "it's not worth your time". I love when people resort to acting this way. It projects their weakness and is just proof that they're unable to stand their ground in an actual discussion.

Not only that, telling someone that they still need to "grow" aka "one day you'll know better " is a sign that the person themselves still has an immature mindset. Confident people are comfortable with what they enjoy,
