If you don't mind the TN screen, this is the best budget 11 1/2" Chromebook out there right now with the N4020. Been using one for about two years and recently purchased another one for $79.00 for backup duty. Rock solid build quality and the touchpad and keyboard are fantastic.

Considering this for my 73 year old mother so she has something just to check her email. She has a hard time using her phone.

Honestly get a bigger screen and keyboard, this will be too hard for her. My 87yo gma has been 15" HP Chromebook(s) for the past 5yrs. Best thing ever.
Anything gets wanky, you can talk her through a power wash and she logs back into one that's clean as a whistle.

No offense. But you should have and always should deselect the "free" software just in case you decide to return. Lesson learned tho. So it's not all bad. And maybe you will help others by communicating this.
