Note that these are porcelain coated cast iron. Not the same thing or same quality as true cast iron grills - these will start chunking off after a year or two of use.

For others, note that the hinged lid on this grill can be problematic for some (such as myself). The ability to redirect the top vent to different parts of the grill is important to me. When I'm using charcoal baskets for instance, I want the heat to 'cross over'. With this design where you can't spin the lid to change where the vent is at, it really limits me.

Also, note that there isn't a temperature gauge (unless I'm just blind). A simple addition but seems like a silly oversight.

Deal seems pretty solid for what you ultimately get, but if you're really into grilling, I'd lean towards one without the hinged top and that has either good thick stainless grates or true cast iron.

But for your everyday griller, yes not a bad deal here. The winning features are the included charcoal baskets, the charcoal bin, and cart with decently large wheels. The propane starter isn't my thing but could be useful for some!
It's 3x this price

$129.91 in Denver area. Picked one up earlier today. It's heavy. I had to have an employee help me get one down cause they were stacked. I was able to pick one end up, lean it against the back of my 2015 Explorer and slide it in by myself when I left though (I hate asking for help, lol). It barely fit with just the third row seats down and the back seat still up.

The pre-installed temp gauges on the Webers are useless, anyways. They're installed on the wrong position on the lid.

Weber for whatever reason installs the temp gauges on the opposite side from the vent. When you're smoking something, the gauge will be on the side of charcoal. This is useless as you need the gauge to be on the side of the vent (where your food sits).

The gauge is also installed too high. It should be at grate level, though a gauge installed too high can still be used as a reference. But it's all pointless to begin with because it's totally on the wrong side.
Weber's reasoning for the temp location is due to the included charcoal baskets. The idea is that the baskets are on either side (lets say north and south), with the vent and gauge parallel to the baskets (lets say facing east and west). In this way, neither the vent nor the gauge will be directly above the flame. Naturally if you're using the baskets in a 'sear station' (all on the same side) orientation, then yeah the gauge is in a poor location.

Bought for $180 yesterday at local club. Put it together then come back here to see people talking about $130. I go to the website and look at the next nearest location and I see $130 as the price. F#@K

I'm curious if they'd do it for you since your local club is still $179. Let us know.

I'd be interested in knowing as well. I also purchased this for $179 at one of my local clubs and just noticed a few other clubs near me have it for $129. I haven't opened it yet so I guess I could return and then buy it at the other club but it's so darn heavy and would be a pain to bring back.

Dang I bought this in May for $300. Does anyone know if I can price adjust by buying it on clearance and returning it to get the full price?

What you can do is buy the new one and return it with the receipt of the older one.

Typically if an item is new in an unopened box, the store doesn't care when you bought it.

So you'll pay 130 then return it for 300.

So I did the text chat support on the site. They gave me a $50 e-gift card. It's not quite equal since I lost a few dollars in tax but I am happy since transporting the grill once was a bit of an issue for me. I had to take it out of the box just to fit it in my car when I picked it up.

Where did the $130 price come from? It starts at $179 when you click in the deal.

It's store specific. Check out pick at different stores in your area, some might be cheaper.

I'm on the fence about this. I have a Masterbuilt 22" kettle that I found in another SlickDeal a few years ago, and the bottom vent handle broke so I'm looking to get something new or just deal with what I have. I also have a Akorn Kamado (never used), CampChef Pellet and a Weber gas (never use the gas anymore since charcoal tastes better to me). I'm considering getting this, but not sure it's worth it at the current price point and with my large inventory of grills. Smilie I will need to sell some of my grills, especially the Weber gas.

You can never have enough grills, I have a 2 weber 22 inch kettles, a 22 inch performer, weber 18 inch smokey mountain 48 inch smoke hollow, 48 inch members mark griddle, 22 inch griddle and just bought this today at $130 it was too good to pass up

Thanks for the tip, I chatted with them and they gave me a $50 e-gift card as well. I just had to provide screenshots of the locations near me that have it for $129.
