Make sure to delete the "free" Webroot/Mcafee junk software from your cart before completing the purchase if you want to be able to return this thing. Otherwise, Best Buy will dock you $30 for it.

Ram Not expandable. RAM is soldered. HD is ok, but definitely would benefit from having either an external HD or a 128gb jump drive. Video editing? False. No way to increase even the power on the laptop because of its hardware. Tried 4 video editing and even photoshop. Lags forever before crashing because of being stuck loading. Only good for word, youtube browsing. FYI discord was running at 100% cpu LOL. And chrome........ should I really say this?.

Was new FP from Walmart (though with only 64GB of storage) for $169 in June. Here are some of the comments if you want to look through them. https://slickdeals.net/f/15828619-samsung-galaxy-book-go-14-fhd-snapdragon-7c-gen-2-4gb-ddr4-64gb-eufs-win-11-169

It's a GREAT price, but from what I can gather, expect to use it the same way as a Chromebook.

Dang I wish I had known that before I placed my purchase. Why would they dock $30 if I needed to return the laptop if I didn't delete that software from my cart?

Linux support seems near non existent.
Apparently Arch, Ubuntu, Debian, & Fedora all have ARM versions as of 2012: https://www.linux.com/training-tu...m-distros/

I wonder if there's a way to put Android on this thing.

I would agree that is underpowered but I watched a few reviews and seen some people doing simple video editing and photo editing and it worked well. Also a USB phone charger can charge and it and seems pretty durable from the drop tests on YouTube. This is the perfect college throw away laptop IMO and school starts soon.
Are you able to install google chrome and firefox? I want to buy it for my dad for just web browsing? Thanks

Frankly I think this is a waste of money at any price. I have the i5 version for $180 from a Samsung deal a couple years ago and it is so farking slow.

What do you mean by low intensity web browsing? What is an example of high intensity web browsing?

While ARM flavors of Linux do exist, try searching for people who have actually gotten Linux to run on this device. I only found 1 example…person was running Fedora and gave no details at all. But they did mention they tried several other distros and were unsuccessful.

Yes definitely, although with the constant windows updates and slowdown he would likely be much better suited with a chromebook. Just my two cents.

Non upgradeable anything.

Win 11 is the ARM flavor. Not the full x86 version. Plenty of useful programs will not run on it.

Linux support seems near non existent. Several distros would run in 4GB of ram pretty well if you could get this notebook running Linux.

Seems like a decent price for the hardware, but realistically what are you going to do with it in the long run? Suppose it could show recipes in the kitchen or replace manuals in the garage. Maybe some low intensity web browsing.

Basically treat this as a tablet with a keyboard…not an actual notebook.
I have this, got it for $149 at Walmart. It's decent for what it is and to me it's a couch surfer / quick code editor.

There's arm64 builds for Firefox, a Chromium, VLC, and a Visual Studio Code build.

Admittedly, I'm probably an outlier user, with spare laptop parts and I swapped the screen for an IPS one. Also, the 4 applications I listed, plus Remote Desktop, are all I really need on this. But I wouldn't call this or treat this as a tablet with a keyboard.
