Verizon Wireless is offering a flat $800 trade in value towards select Samsung phones including the Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, S22 ultra, S22 plus, S22, and S21 FE 5G ($700 credit as MSRP is $699.99), with select 5G unlimited plans (including the lowest tier 5G start). This applies for new lines and upgrade eligible lines. $800 credit is applied over 36 months. If switching, you are also eligible for another $200.

While many phones on VZW seem to have "get up to $800 off with trade", these Samsung phones say simply "get $800 off with trade"

I was able to submit for $800 trade in value using some really old phones including an iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7 Edge. I am an existing customer that was upgrade eligible for multiple lines.

Congrats. I believe you should be fine and if not it'll just be another hassle to deal with but you should be able to ultimately get it with more customer support contact. The trade-in correction is a manual correction so it wouldn't necessarily show with the automated emails. I've gone through the same thing in a past experience.

It looks like TIV for Start plans is back up to $800, as long as you're purchasing a Samsung. Edit: maybe not? Getting conflicting info from the website & the reps...

Since I got a flip 4, are there some good tips for care/feeding of these folding phones? I would expect problems in the gen 1 versions being so new, but you'd hope after how many years? these mostly work for however long most people use their phones nowadays. I don't think we can expect things to last forever and all my old phones have eventually mostly died, but a solid amount of years till the next promo is good enough for me (assuming I can send it in for trade).

anyone did a S22 purchase this week can confirm what tradein value they got for crappy phone? wondering if its worth the hassle to activate it on Verizon if i purchase tomorrow. verizon website in giving me $800 for crappy tradein on S22 in cart, but i am hearing conflicting info here so not sure if i will get $800 at tradein time.

2) will the unlocked phone still get locked to verizon on activation?

1) No you can't finance a non Verizon phone, i.e. unlocked, and therefore you don't qualify for Verizon's trade in promo.
2) No the unlocked phone won't be locked upon activation.

Really? Then what does "unlocked, activate today" mean for Verizon? I thought it meant to put it on dpp. So this verizon promo can't be combined with the current bb tradein promo, which I believe is for unlocked phones?

It means BB wants to do a carrier upgrade or new line for you because they get sales commission for it. That's why their discounts on unlocked devices are usually associated with activate now. Think about it as BYOD which is also eligible for commission for retail channels.

That's correct, you cannot take advantage of double dipping the BB trade in promo on unlocked Samsung devices which is heavily discounted by a Samsung trade in coupon.

Yeah it's super confusing. The $800 will show for tiv, but in my case, it added a plan upgrade to my cart (I'm on start unlimited). Called & chatted, both reps told me I'd only get $200 for my s7, I had done this during the previous promotion and gotten $800 tiv for an lg g7. But the $800 will show at the first stages of the process.

Are you 100% sure? Have you tried it? I don't get it why they can't do dpp when it's being processed as an upgrade.
