The point of these is bidirectional communication aswell as communication with all 7 computer modules. Cant access the transmission control module with a carista, can ya

You can't clear TPMS light without replacing bad sensors

OMG NO! why are you getting so many thumbs up and misinforming people? this is a bidirectional scan tool, not a cheap scanner like the one you mention. This will read codes and data from all computers in the car and not only the ECU (like the Bluetooth you mention), and #1 its bidirectional! it will send data to the ECU (you can activate relays, etc manually!), the cheap Bluetooth ones just READS.

Most of the functionality in devices like this have been replaced by a Bluetooth ODB reader (Google ELM327) and apps like torque or carista for under $40-$50. iPhone users would want the wifi version of an ELM327. Just in case someone doesn't want to throw down over 300 dollars to clear codes.

Carista also has a lot of investments in updates for reprogramming settings that normally a dealer can only do (like disabling door chimes etc).

I like Techstream, but it only works for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion. It's fine if all you are using it solely on that car. I bought this scanner because I needed a bi-directional unit for all makes and models. Just received this unit today, and I briefly used this scanner on my 11 Prius and was able to activate the abs bleeder, which is what I needed it for. I also scanned my 07 Rav4 and was able to see the usual things. It has a tire light on, and I was able to see the tire pressure of each tire, and which one was not working causing the light. Unit is smaller than the MS908P that we have at the shop. Less features, but for the price, it was good.

Autel vs icarsoft? Differences?
YouTube says the autel updates are free for first year only. Icar is free for life?

Does this have Subaru update for 2022? Autel is notorious for shitty updates. My MD808 pro doesn't do anything newer than 2018 and hasn't had updates in ages.

It seems like they are always coming out with new models and abandoning support for the rest.

will this clear TPMS light b/f I trade in?

or will the cheap BT OBDII work just as well?
You have to replace the TPMS sensor and require to relearn tool in some vehicle, to clear the TPMS lights.

That's the problem with TPMS. The batteries eventually die and it costs a small fortune to fix.

I believe so that it does have 2022 Subaru's. I bulk updated last night. Just checked right now and it shows 2022 on all the Subaru models.

Do a search from the amazon reviews. The subscription fee is not cheap. This has one year

One of the reviews dated 1/7/2021:

"Easy friendly user interface. Responsive touch screen and pretty nice quality. For the price and what it can do just beyond diagnosis, I would highly recommend. The tool comes with a two year subscription for updates. After that you can pay $124.50 for a year."

But do i have to use the same brand sensor that they sell? Or it works with any brand?
Search eBay for OEM TPMS sensors for your car. I've purchased all four for a fraction of the dealer price.
