That means you'll get perfect frame pacing and see every frame within the content, like fast sports, movies, digital streams, or just a TV show. And yes, no judder in these cases.

120 Hz" and I figure it can do it. I assume the built-in apps if they somehow do 4K @120hz, the panel is capable of it but w/o HDMI 2.1 or latest DP port, it cannot do 120hz based on lack of input?

Generally the only reason to need 4k120 inputs is if you game on a Series X, PS5, or a high end computer. If that's a high priority, the LG 48C1 would be a better option. It has been the same price a few times lately and surely will be again if they don't all sell out.

I don't recommend it at all. Picture quality is excellent though.
The A9S is a great TV, but it is not HDMI 2.1 in any meaningful sense. It is an HDMI 2.0 TV that supports eARC.

For someone like me, who watches a lot of different 4K content, this is really important: I hate that my TV has to constantly blank its screen for a few seconds as it figures out how to deal with varied frame rates/color profiles.
But if you don't care, or just don't want much native 4K content, no, it's not a huge deal. Even eARC isn't really that big of a deal. HDMI 2.0b has enough bandwidth for everything non-gaming related to display, albeit not as perfectly as we'd like.
