If you're genuinely curious, buy/try one, preferably any MacBook with an M1/M2 CPU. Use it for a month, like really use it, and if you don't like it, return it to Costco or whatever. I used to think the same way for over a decade, why would I pay more for average specs etc, one day my curiosity got the better of me and I bought a Mac and now I won't go back.

1. Right now you have the same company making the hardware, the software, and the CPU. That's huge. Everything just works, far fewer crashes, no weird Windows driver nonsense. The OS tends to get less confused.

2. The Mac experience is just faster. Not in benchmarks (those are great too), but the responsiveness of the OS. Lots of things that are 2 steps/clicks in Windows are a single click in on a Mac

3. Build quality and aesthetics tend to be better. I have a $2.5k+ Windows machine and while there's nothing wrong it, the trackpad, keys etc. are more intuitive on a $849 (on sale) M1 MacBook Air. The parts you touch/interact with (Keyboard, trackpad, screen) are generally stellar.

4. Resale. i started using Macs about 8 years ago, i've been using Windows my whole life. I can buy a Mac deal of SD, use it for 2 years, throw it on facebook marketplace, craigslist, etc. and someone will buy it and usually for only a few hundred less than what I paid. Take the cash and buy the new model. Try selling a used Dell or Lenovo, you aren't going to get many takers.

5. Travel/portability. They're just easier to travel with, this comes down to aesthetics, but generally they don't have weird bulges, non-standard dongles, plasticky external parts that can break etc.

You aren't going to be able to justify it, and honestly, even at the $1599 BB deal for this laptop, it's still pricey. Wait for a solid deal on M1/M2 Air or Pro, like sub $1k ($800-850 for m1 Air) and give it a go, if you hate it, return it.

Gotcha...so you believe a Costco rep, verbally, over Citibank's published web page?

Try it:

Go to citi.com
Login; ignore all offers
Click "Rewards and Benefits" heading
Click Card Benefits subheading
You're taken to a new site
Click VIEW CARDS if you have more than one card
Select the Costco Citi Card
Scroll down to SHOPPING BENEFITS, EXTENDED WARRANTY, VIEW MY BENEFIT

Warranties run out. Get an extra 24 months added to your warranty when you purchase items at least in part with your Citi card and/or your Costco credit card reward certificate. In the event of a covered failure, the item will be repaired or you will be reimbursed up to the amount charged on your Citi card (including Costco credit card reward certificate) or the cost to replace the item, whichever is less, up to $10,000.

Thanks for the update! To clarify, is the price expected to reach $1749 on Aug 31, or shall we need to apply a coupon?

It'll be the price on that date. Costco pricing does not require actual coupons.

Costco offers 90day returns right? In case the M2 seems worth it at launch might be an option to return and buy.

I'm not doing that lol, I have one already, but just a thought.
Yep. They also do 30 day price adjustments no questions asked (if new price is lower than what you paid).

I picked up a surface pro 8 last week because of this policy for $999 bundle.

Why do people even buy Apple products? They are too expensively priced, and the specs are not that great. A gaming computer would outperform this with much better specs, while costing significantly less.

I have used an old, regular HP laptop for over a decade, and it is still going strong.
Can it even run more than 2 tabs of chrome? How's the battery? Still has support? Can you find any replacement parts? How hot does it get?

Why do Apple haters always ruin the comments. Just don't click on the deal and let us discuss.
