The justification is it replaces all of those grills. It is so quick to start up and stop. Occasionally clean up drippings and empty ash catch, but it is only a couple minutes slower to be ready than gas. Smokes better than a pellet. Charcoal roar when you want it.

grill gets hot quick. there's videos on youtube showing it. it gets hot up to 700deg, i never got mine that high but close, 600deg

I have a 2017 CRV and it fit in the back. It's close, but it fit. If the box at Costco is the same as Walmart, the dimensions are 34hx22wx40l

I know some people really want the griddle, but hear me out, just get a portable 17-22" Blackstone griddle if you're the kind that likes tailgates or camping. I have a pellet smoker that has a griddle option, never had to use it once since the LPG griddles are so good and clean up is easier. Having to reconfigure a smoker/grill and depending how it's designed, if there is no slot for grease... that's not a good griddle.

This would be a lot slicker if it came with the flat top griddle insert like this model normally does. I just got the version with a griddle for $349 at Walmart last night (though I had to drive a way to the nearest store that Brickseek said had it for that price, lol).

You just set the dial to whatever temperature you want, from 225F to 700F. The heat is indirect (and fan-controlled), so flare-ups are a complete non-issue.

If you don't want smoke flavor, just stick to gas or your oven, you'll be a lot happier.

FWIW, I just bought this as an upgrade from my Char-Griller Akorn that I've used for 10 years. A kamado will use less fuel, but other than that I think this is probably better overall. But we'll see how I feel once I've actually used it!

If all goes well, I'll probably just use this instead of my 22" Blackstone Adventure Ready. The grease drain hole is at the front-left.

how long of a smoke can it do without having to add more charcoal? my current pellet goes on 10 hours , don't need it the same but don't want to add coal every 30 mins
