M1chip is a humongous leap in processing power especially for iPad. Most reviwer agree that iPadOS is the one holding the M1 back. M1 will last you 5 years+ not to mention M1 is HOT on an iPad when used to its potential.

Apple Educational price is 749 for the 128GB with a $150.00 Gift card good for additional Apple items, apps etc. No expiration. So that deal is better. You are paying 49.00 extra plus tax to get a gift card worth $150.00. Some states may also have no sales tax for back-to-school as well. Not sure right now. Or for 850.00 you get 256 with 150.00 gift card. Net cost $700.00. I did not factor in Red card which does save 5%.

Subtotal for Ipad + Pencil = $899.98
Tax = ~$60
Discounts = ~$169
(Discounts applied = Save $100 on an ipad pro, Save $30 on apple pencil with ipad pro purchase, Red Debit Card 5% discount)

Still a bit expensive. I recommend getting one secondhand or used. I got my 256gb with cellular for $500 on eBay.
