Anyone know if this would work for an Audi Q5 2016? It says it won't work. But i know most of the time it's because of the chip in the key and all you need to do is leave the key in the car.
Call your local Best Buy to ask and confirm. That's what I did with my car

Thanks for mentioning this. However, I was wondering, is there a way by which one can see the Total Tech price. Also, One question- Can one join a totaltech membership (which I believe is 199$) today and then buy this at the lower price? So, technically, one would get totaltech membership for only 90$ extra.
Great deal OP. Love these things.

You can check compatibility right on the product page.
The days of needing a 3rd key are pretty much gone. You may need two keys to set it up but none needed to flash the unit.

Great deal for $280, usually it's $350.

I started getting "tach sensing failure" when trying to remote start, essentially the car would crank but not start. I had some serious issues with the car not starting (both with key and Drone/remote) and also cutting off the engine while driving which is pretty dangerous, replacing battery didn't solve it. Now this could be other things like fuel pump/pressure, I took it to multiple mechanics and they couldn't fully figure it out (it's a reliable 2016 CRV) however it magically went away now for 2 months+ after I recalibrated the remote with my car, no more "tach sensing failure" and car not starting. My hypothesis is that the remote starter brain wasn't letting the car start and shutting it off because it lost connection to the keys and thought it was being stolen, other hypothesis is that my fuel pump/line was clogged and it just unclogged, I'm 50/50 on it since it never got fully root caused.
Whoa. This is scaring me from installing a remote start ever again lol.

If you were to blame the unit (rather than install job or fuel pump line), would you guess it's the brain of this particular LTE model?

It could be the LTE brain itself that's the issue because when I search "tach sensing failure" it takes me to few Drone mobile articles, nothing on the compustar remote starter itself. The brain had trouble recognizing the key fobs, so it would trigger anti-theft features.

Like I said, I'm not totally sure but the car and remote starter has been working great for 2+ months now without that error or starting issue and all I did was follow a video instruction to relearn/reset the tach signal from the remote to the brain.

I would still recommend it if you live in hot or cold climate, but be wary in the first few months and go back to BB support if you see any issues at all.

In order to see every TT price you have to log in with an account that has TT.
But you just add the TT to the cart with a particular item to see it's TT price if it has one

Not sure if this matters but i saw a button that said "See Offers" based on items in the cart.

They offered 2 additional items for free with purchase.

Voxx Electronics - Ball Bearing Tilt Switch
Compustar - Hardwire Harness Kit - Black

It depends on the car, what is nedded for installation. If you have totaltech all extra parts and installation is free. If you want to do this remote start, getting a totaltech membership is probably smart since installation is also $200

Yes, cancel that and get this installed. Its the same except without an extra fob and this has the ability to remote start your car from your phone/watch

Are there other simpler versions that offer free installation? I don't know if I need the drone thing. I park right behind my house.

This is going to be the most advance while also being the cheapest. Its useful feature monitor your car from your phone because it gives you battery status, car lock and unlock status, remote start and more
