I unfortunately too have a curved shaft. Not hyper tough, and definitely is more than 2 strokes

I picked up one of these last year for the same price, on clearance. It's made by the same company as Ryobi and looks identical. Because of this, it also fits multiple attachments like an edger and blower from the expand-it line.

It starts easily and very simple. You do need to mix 2-stroke engine oil with the gasoline per the instructions. And these small engines do better with ethanol free fuel if you can find it. I wouldn't waste my money on the small cans from the hardware store though.

Plus this one is most likely 15 inches bigger then the one you own.

Removed dumb "curved shaft" joke as I see someone else beat his first.

It's California Legal today. In 2024, the phase out of gas-powered landscaping equipment takes effect.

I got one last time it was on clearance and honestly I wish I didn't it worked every other time for a few times and then stopped working all together. Terrible product at any price point.

Worked for me in 32935 (Florida). The store I bought it at is already showing OOS and they had several available just a couple days ago.

Are you sure you have the same model? This one doesn't seem to have multi attachment head. There is no manual to confirm. Walmart had other black max model which clearly calls out the multip attachment capable.

I have a Ryobi I got years ago. It has a bigger gas reservoir. It's heavy. It take other attachments. I got a rototiller attachment for it. I got it tangled in Japanese Yew roots. I used it just the once and it quickly rusted. I've left gas in the thing for years. I wonder if I could get it working. Do I need to take it to a shop to do something to it for having gas in it, unused, for many years?

Is mine better than this one or any new one? Should I get something current now for cheap? Thanks! I have Ryobi 18V tools. Maybe their batteries would work in some Ryobi weed wacker.

Thanks!
