This thing matches a 3090, or smokes it if you overclock it (for 1440p performance on all games). The temps look to hover around the 50°s and Overclocking it still leaves it in the high 50s even at 2700MHz. That's pretty insane. If you're on the fence for this card, you could order it in Amazon and just hold it for 30 days without opening it and return it if you run into a better deal before September ends.

I wouldn't get a 3090 though either. 3080 or 6800 are better at 500 which 6800 is hitting now. You don't get much more performance here.

EVGA 3090 TI Hybrid owner here. Liquid cooled FTW. I will never go back to air cooled if I have the choice.

RTX high end cards will do 4k better. But theyre currently still too high in price so you would want to wait. 3090s also have poor cooling on the memory mounted on the back. You can mod by just adding some heatsinks (but more $$ spent). If you got RTX, wait for more price drops on a 3080 12gb/3080Ti, or a 3090 Ti. AMD 6900XT and 6700XTs are going to drop prices better than RTX cards though. I dont expect a RTX 4090 launch to lower 30 series prices this month(and we're all still going to wait for youtuber and tech site benchmarks). The Ethereum POS switch will be the bigger factor and when AMD releases new cards at lower prices.

If you have to pick a card now, this STRIX XTXH card is it while saving $200+ against a 3090. Plus it's watercooled.

Benchmarks were on a FE stock 6900XT. This deal is a XTXH high binned 2700MHz+ overclocked, and hybrid water cooled for lower temps. If you're even talking about the 10GB 3080, that one performs lower than the 3080 12GB on Hardware Unbox's benchmark video.
