They're fine for what they are. I've got two hidden behind the couch for storage and the biggest complaint would be that the construction is predictably thin as a cost cutting measure (relative to similar IKEA product) which has resulted in them sagging very quickly in parts.

Good luck!

What do you put on these that make them sag?

I have some of these. Think college dorm one year use and by the end sophomore year in an apartment they'll be donezo. Don't move them. Don't put anything heavy on them. Don't expect anything good. They should last 5-10 years if you use them lightly and don't move them.

I use wicker cubes in almost all of them for binning kids stuff like toys. The ones with more than a few kids books tossed in seem to have been heavy enough to flex the less structured middle.

This isn't super surprising given how thin and likely cheap the particle board is for these (contrast the Target stuff with the beefy, structural, honeycomb paper edge pieces of IKEA Kallax [ikea.com]). As this all took place within the first year there's likely some element of design flaw vs. user error/age. The good news is that these were always going to be situated behind my couch (so that the contents and the pieces themselves would be hidden; I wasn't a big fan of turning my living room into a kiddo Container Store). My action plan to try and fortify these while also adding an aesthetic improvement is to attach butcher block to the top to match a strip of butcher block I have between the wall and couch on the other side of the room. Hopefully the butcher block would serve to pull-up and reinforce the weak middle.

Good luck!
Jon

Caught that, It defaulted me 4 states away and didn't want to ship to where it was defaulting me for some reason so they didn't let me go to those. Got it fixed and now get at least shipping for some. Already upvoted the deal, i love these, be my third set.

These don't fit the common cubby baskets, need 13" cubbies
