lol are you me? I commented something similar few days ago , got 3 downvotes Big Grin. Whenever I give similar opinion in reddit I get downvoted to oblivion Big Grin

Anyways, anyone who is planning to buy this phone please don't go by youtube reviews and blog posts. I am really not sure if these big youtubers get paid for positive reviews or what. Please look out for pixel 6a problems online.
Overheating , fingerprint sensor, battery drain, bluetooth connectivity with android auto...

Buy any other old Pixel phone. Pixel 3a, 4, 5 ... Skip 6 series.

I traded broken screen s20fe and got this for 149 from Google. I like the phone a lot, better than my 4a 5g better than s20fe. It has got warm twice while under heavy uaese in direct sun, otherwise it's been great.

call quality sucks, people say randomly it sounds muffled or they get echo feedback
5G signal sucks, switched to LTE. still randomly cuts out when streaming
fingerprint sensor doesn't work no matter what i do. i don't have screen protector....."Couldn't process fingerprint. Please try again". And I am on latest firmware.
surprisingly, no battery drain issues though
if i charge while using the phone though, it can get hot as hell

this is hands down, the absolutely worst piece of shit phone i've ever owned before
i will be contacting Google about an RMA b/c that's my only option at this point, my pixel 3a is theirs now. if they keep sending me pieces of shit, i will keep RMA'ing them while i just go and buy a whole different phone to use

I have an active installment plan on Tmobile for the "Free" Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. There's still 8 more months left.

Can I still take advantage of this T-mobile upgrade at Best Buy? Or would I lose out on my credits, and be forced the pay the remaining balance of $94?

I'm assuming the folks bashing the phone are the same ones that can tell a difference between a $12 bottle of wine and a $60 bottle of wine. For the rest, this phone is solid. My battery lasts all day and I rarely charge it to >90% as the internet suggested that'll help the battery's longevity in the long term. The overheating issue is totally foreign to me too. Everything is super snappy and I'm pleasantly happy with my $150 upgrade. Should note too... I have an iPhone 12 for my work phone, and prefer my 6a experience. The pictures I took of the Artemis 1 looked better on my 6a

Is anyone really interested in 60hz phones at this point? Would have to be free with upgrade to even consider.
There's a market. Myself for example don't care about refresh rate and lower the setting for extra 5 min of battery instead.

still unlimited hi res google photo for pixel or no?
Pixel 1/1 XL has unlimited original quality photo backup.

Pixel 2-5 has unlimited reduced quality photo backup.

Any pixel after 5 will NOT have free photo backup - anything uploaded from such Pixel phones will occupy the 15GB shared space with Google Photo/Gmail/Google Drive.

Heating issue I would say has been the same since pixel 4 or even 3.
I upgraded to 6a from 4 because of the battery and overheating, but the overheating is entirely the same.
Not a fan of fingerprint, but the back tapping is nice, especially you can change what it does. Disappointed that you can't squeeze the sides to access assistant tho
I've had the Pixel 4 since Feb 2020 and haven't ever had an overheating issue. I can't complain about battery life either. I'm holding out for the 7.

it means you just switch the phone on an existing line, nothing else. and yes request unlock after 45 days - sometimes they do it immediately via messenger.

What is this upgrade means? I am using Magenta plan in a group of 8 people. Once phone cross 45 days I can request TMobile to unlock and purchase iPhone 14 if I want, correct?
no need.
Quote from dealbreaker15 :
Do I need a new line on TMO ?
think this is one of those cases you have to call them in advance to preserve the bill credits - then the phone can be added to your existing line.

I upgraded to this from my 3A XL and I am somewhat disappointed. Phone gets overheated often, battery life seem to suck and getting used to the fingerprint reader on the screen.
Not sure if they've fixed it, but I'd recommend to you and other users to disable the finger print reader for now. I could still access my friend pixel 6a (with latest software update and Android 13) with my finger prints. Imagine if you lost your phone, the phone itself and other apps that you've enable biometric logins might be compromised. My 2 cents.

Because of the machine learning the first week of use on any of the Pixel 6 models is terrible. The phone is trying to learn what is important and how you use your phone so it can work efficiently. What I have heard for the 6 and 6 Pro is to turn off 5G because the phone wastes so much energy trying to find signal. The 6a is missing 5 bands that the 6 and 6 Pro have. I have read reviews where users have tried to turn off 5G but for some reason they lost some 4G bands and had no signal. Not sure if anyone else tried turning off 5G to see if it helps with battery or if they lost other bands.
I concur. I switched to LTE instead of 5G on my Pixel 5 and battery life and temperature improved significantly.

You will still keep your monthly credit assuming you don't cancel the line with the credit.
