Then you are doing something wrong. I have my outdoor speakers wired to my amp, which has a google chromecast audio attached to it.

Now anything on my phone can be cast to it.

Anything playing on a google speaker can be cast to the yard.

"Hey google - we're need some pool tunes" - starts a routine that makes the amp turn on the speakers by the pool.

"Hey google - let's dance" - starts playing party music, to the speakers that are closer to the house.


Out by the patio grilling - need some music, pull out my phone and tell harmony to turn on my yard speakers and cast away.


Instead of having to find which kid has the BT speaker, is it charged? oh walked away to go get something? sorry no tunes for anyone that decided to stay home....

This is like 10x better than a BT speaker if you do it right.

These are nice little outdoor speakers. I have a prior version of these all over my yard, and they've lasted 13+ years. Starting to look a little shabby now, though so I grabbed a couple of these for replacement/spares. Thanks, OP!

I have had some for 14 years now, but I rarely use them any more; 95% of the time I use a nice BT speaker which is much easier to use with my phone when I am outside. Not bad if you are listening to a radio broadcast or something...

Anyone know how these (or any speaker) hold up near the ocean / salt water?

I have some speakers I've been pulling out of my old house and the cones are disintegrated. Paper falls out everywhere. They were also Yamaha and I would estimate 15-20 years old. Just curious if anyone had experience with cones falling apart.

I'm in for a few!

Yeah, I was thinking the same. I'd like to mount speakers on the gazebo but the wires from it to the house is the main challenge.

I am on the fence about getting these for my office setup with a cheap, small amp. The speakers my IT dept provides are those el cheapo Dell pc speakers that are aweful. Even with zoom calls, they buzz 😆.
