Ours is decently quick. The last 2 times I had them put Defenders on our van and CR-V, it was less than 1.5hrs each time and that's with the appointment website.

(2) "but you should beware of their new warranty replacement policy. If they have to replace a tire, you get a credit for what you paid for (discounted price, let's say 140) but calculating what u need to pay, the price they use is the current price(180). Since current price for 1 tire is never discounted, u will end up paying the difference ($40)in a warranty repair. On top of it they charge a installation fee. I recently had to pay $65 on a $170 tire warranty replacement 4 months after I bought them at Costco."

(3) Road hazard only gives you protection for just the tire that goes bad. As many people are looking at the CC2s for SUVs with AWD, note that even if you have road hazard, you still have to replace the rest of your tires at the same time at your own cost (unless they are barely worn) to not damage your tranny. I don't know how Discount Tires road hazard works, but I bet its the same. So I think this is not really anything that is better or worse between different tire shops. Its just a reminder.
I'll just say for that last point, every tire shop I've dealt with has the same policy - bad tire ONLY. Frankly it would jack up prices a lot if for every 1 tire that goes bad they have to replace 4.
I've never had tires done at Costco, usually BJ's, Town Fair (New England) are my go-tos, previously I've also used Sears, as well as purchased tires online with an independent install. While you can save money buying online, if you can find a store that will install them (some won't because you didn't buy them there), they usually will also rape you on fees and whatnot that are "included" if you buy tires with them. I think the last time I did that I figured I saved less than 5-6% on the whole deal, and that doesn't include the PITA of having tires shipped to my house and hauling them around.
It's a Defender copycat, usually about $25-60/tire cheaper than Defenders. I'm really honestly thinking about going with them instead of the Defenders on my Silverado 2500. I can get the Conti's for about $275/tire whereas the Defenders are anywhere from like $297-$335/tire in the Load E range. And depending on size, almost all of them are made in the US, if that matters.

Consider yourself lucky. I'm dealing with uneven wear on our Volvo XC90 right now, which may force me to get new tires sooner than I should.
I want a rotation and alignment deal; do people really get tires re-balanced?
Given density high enough, no alignment can possibly hold, hence the per new tire => need alignment can be true. Even faster if bad enough and for those who ram through pot holes!

It's really a function of how many pot holes in a 10-miles radius from where you live.
Given density high enough, no alignment can possibly hold, hence the per new tire => need alignment can be true. Even faster if bad enough and for those who ram through pot holes!
Usually it doesn't matter (i.e. at high speeds there is no steering wheel shake). As far as I can tell by your comment, there are no issues with my original comment.
