My son was gifted this years ago for Christmas closer to the $100 range. It has been our longest lasting toy for him to still play with, but we've had to replace the entire running gear and also ordered new batteries as spares. The rear diff will fail. Twice in my case. They sell an upgraded front and rear diff with a new driveshaft that cost probably about this price but that has held up well. It honestly has been a great toy and a good intro into learning about working on things.
Never had this brand before but I have several Chinese brand cars that were around $100 each and they're great. Saw this on Amazon earlier and ordered one. It's a 10th scale which is pretty big, the footprint is 12" x 13". It's a brushed motor but upgrading is easy if you want more speed. Should be a great first car, car for kids who don't need extreme speed or just a basher. In the promo video they crash it pretty hard, and it looks like parts are available which is key for proper RC cars.
